I'm re-watching The Matrix...

I thought "Agents" were omnipresent? Why is it that they need cars? In order to arrest Trinity, couldn't the Agents have shown up immediately after finding her location, instead of having the cops show up first and all that?

How do Agents differ from other police/aythority figures in The Matrix?
 
They can manipulate the matrix. But I don't think they could be omnipresent. Heck, I don't even know what that means 😀
 
No. What they do is take over a form, and then an agent appears. So the agent still requires a means to travel around.

Yep, just like the agent took the body of the homeless guy in the underground subway tunnel.
 
They can take over a body if they see them. That particular scene they had traced Trinity; unlike later in the movie when the bum sees Morpheus, Trinity, and Neo and the phone booth, and the agent takes his body.

The agents are unable to just "Morph" around.

The way the trailer was played out, it sounded like Neo referred to them as upgrades?

agents or viruses, they still 0wnz0r! 😀
 
I don't think it's clear from the trailer that Neo is referring to the twins when he says that.

(just watched it again) In fact it looks like Smith just grabbed Neo's fist/arm as he punched.
