the matrix has my computer

a little while ago i rebooted my computer, and right after login, dc++ and AIM loaded as always (autostart) then i heard a matrix revolution commercial coming from my speakers :Q then about 30secs after it finished my system hard rebooted by itself (most likely total coincidence). absolutely no other programs running and nothing suspicious in startup entries. scanned with 2 different virus and trojan scanners as well as spybot and nothing turned up😕

this happened to my gf tonight too. said the trailer just started playing on her speakers, no video just sound. only apps she had open were outlook and aim but she has deadaim installed so no ads. i had no idea why it happened.

if you are running teh latest version of AIM it has talking adds that play music also. they used to play teh ELF theme now its Matrix. thats what im guessing that was. dont know about teh reboot tho

o and DEAD AIm wont stop the damn talking in the new version of AIM. it will hide teh adds but you will still hear them

i love both Gaim and trillian cause i use both depending on what OS im on

ah well that explains it... guess AIMutation only hides the ads as well :frown:

yea it definitly sucks. I sugges getting trillian. even the free version is better then AIM. and trillian has sweetplugins like acuweather, and the one teh checks your mail for you

yea, same thing happened with mine. Minding my own busness, when i heard random noises comming from my speakers it freaked me out...but it was that matrix thing on AIM
