The manufacturing of my new boots...

Nice. I used to buy a lot of Filson but many things are imported these days, about half. Brooks bros is still mainly US but I don't dress like that.

My boots unfortunatly are made in Italy. Asolo Powermatic 500s. Nothing else I found as tough and supportive.

I love Filson, they started here in Seattle too. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend visiting the Filson flagship store, it is gorgeous inside. But be prepared for some sticker shock. Then again, it is top quality clothing and gear.

Nice buy JStorm.

Kind of want some now. Pricey?

Edit: 350 or so

$350 is not pricey if they last and are comfortable. Boots like that last a lifetime if taken care of. I burn through $150 china running shoes every three months.

I have a double leather filson belt that is about 15 years old. Perfect condition. Well worth the $70. I used to eat belts 6 months tops until I found filson.. All my huunting gear is filson too. Bags, vests, jackets, bush pants.

I love my whites. You are right though its getting hard to find good made in north america boots.

I need some boots for the upcoming winter but have no idea where to go to get good ones anymore. The last pair I had lasted me 10 years. These Wolverines look nice but they don't have any stores around me.

350? That's it? I would gladly pay 350 dollars for a solid pair of boots. JSt0rm, I thought your work didn't require boots? Making a 350 dollar fashion statement?

Where in Illinoise are you?

Looks like there are four Filson dealers in IL: http://www.filson.com/dealer-locato...P&zip=&proximity=10&city=&state=IL&country=US

You can order online too: http://www.filson.com/mens/footwear/-1011/

I'm downstate in Champaign-Urbana and there aren't any Filson dealers near me either. For something this upscale, I would probably have to go into Chicago to find them and I certainly am not going to drop that kind of coin on a pair of boots sight unseen or unworn.

EDIT: Looks like Filson boots are no longer USA made. For those prices, I'd prefer to get US or UK made shoes.

My boots are Ostrich Leg, made in Mexico. I figure, if we support some jobs in Mexico, the Mexicans will stay there.

These are more of a hiking boot then a work boot but I bought them because I love handmade articles of clothing. I bought them a half size down from my normal. Apparently they make them a little large as your feet swell when you hike for a couple hours so if u don't Plan on using them like this then size down half.

It feels good to have such high quality products and I enjoy aging them. It also feels good knowing that 350 stays here.

Ah yeah I agree, just curious. They do look nice and anyone who has done any hiking or work in boots can appreciate a good pair. God do shitty boots really suck.

Yeah I just got the basic 1000 mile boot so only $350. All of the 1000 mile boots have that same process.

How are they a hiking boot with a flat sole? Seems slippery as shit more of a clubbing boot or made for the guy who want to look rugged around town.

Oh and do you know how to find model number for the Austin. May have to order a pair - Kinda a shoe whore 😛

nm I found em

What size you think? I wear a 13 normally. But they don't have 12.5 like you ordered half a size down.

Nice looking boots, but they come at $550 in Sweden. Next time I get to the States, I'll get a pair.

Yeah I think the design is true to a boot they made a hundred years ago so as a actual hiking boot it will probably fall behind. However I have seen pictures of people redoing the soles with rubber.
