Raise your hand if you thought this bad boy was scarier than the Dementors from Harry Potter...

It's a western-style character driven series. If you don't like old Clint Eastwood movies and need explosions and shaky cameras every 30 seconds, probably not the series for you.

I love Star Wars (and old "spaghetti westerns"), and I thought most of the first season of The Mandalorian were so-so. Pretty much fly to this planet, have some random person watch the child, and then try to rescue him.

It does have it's good moments though, and the last two episodes of the season were pretty strong. I just hope they carry that momentum into the 2nd season.

I like western just fine. This is kind of like watching someone play RPG.

no I wasn't trying to do that... it just feels like a shitty spaghetti western, in space, sans hardasses.

I wasn’t trying to single you out.
More of a general comment.
I firmly believe with games, TV or movies play or watch how you see fit. There are few wrong answers.

Guys it is just meant to be a fun show. Suspend disbelief and simply enjoy it.

Careful ... for some folks stuff like this might as well be real life! :p

Just like the Trekkies who got all bent out of shape over the big lumpy Klingon heads in Discovery ... its make-believe get over it!

I don't really pick apart the sci-fi shows I watch, but for some things you can't help going "WTF was that?".

Examples:

-Carrie Poppins.
-Midichlorians.
-The Mandalorian apparently using 1234 as the password to his weapon storage locker on his ship.

:p

The story is very simplistic (children-oriented), but it's got cool graphics & Baby Yoda, so it's just kind of a fun basic show. Wish the story was punchier & had more of an overall arch, but it's fun for what it is!

Each episode doesn't have MAJOR plot points, but I think for the first season they did a good job of introducing the series. I'm rewatching the first season now and like how they build the Mandalorian lore more with each episode, which is exactly what you'd expect from a series specifically about Mandalorians. Each episode is really just a self contained story that is used to fills in gaps about either Mando's life specifically, or the history of Mandalorians in general.

Seems like next season we'll see how the mandalorians tie in with the Jedi, so that'll be neat

he's not allowed to have other people see who he is under the helmet.
that's the way of Mandalorians?!

then wtf Clone Wars series where the Mandalorians are shown more w/o their helmets then with it on?

edit:
oh.. and Hitman24 will be in season2.
hope he does better in this than in his movie.

Easy answer? It's a plot hole... shit happens. Fictional movies/TV are never air tight

Long answer? Like most religions, some members follow "the way" more literally than others. Mando may take the helmet thing far more seriously than others, and it's more of a symbolic and traditional gesture than a strictly enforced rule.

Yeah I kind of feel the same way. It gets a little better as the episodes progress but I felt that overall the story was lacking. For me it felt like nothing really happens to move the story forward....IDK it just felt stagnant to me.
My wife on the other hand loves it and can't wait for S2 to start so what do I know...to each their own I guess.

Who knows in a way it might end up like Star Trek:Enterprise. Yeah the first season sucks ass but seasons 2-4 were some of the best tv Trek ever. This might turn out to be the same way....
