For as long as I can remember in life, I have held close to Christian principles. From my childhood on, I accepted Christianity as true, and God's existence as fact even if I didn't always adhere to its moral teachings.
Recently I began to wonder why I believed these things. Why did I accept Chrsitianity? If I had been brought up elsewhere in the world would I still believe in Christ and his teachings? I had thought about this before but I had never really let the thought take root in my mind.
Then I began to think about it? Why had I never taken the time to question what I believe? Why was I so quick to submit the life I have to the fear of Christianity or any other teaching for that matter. Why did I not use my mind to question and to search for what I thought to be true. That's when it hit me. It was all atmospheric engineering. I was a product of my environment. I had not arrived at any intelligent opinion on life but had accepted what others offered me with no question.
I realized that Christianity tried to protect itself by offering our ineligibility to question our creator. That if there were something we could not understand or that could not be explained to us by the church that it could be covered in the blanket statement, "we should not question God."
The first step in brainwash is to eliminate inquisitive thought. That is the job of any organized religion I realized, and Christianity was no exception. It had certainly done its job well.
I concluded that it would be more of a sin to blindly accept what those around me offered, when the very heart of their religion exposes mankind as a race of liars and infidels. Why was I taking the word of people who are unsupported by their very faith? It made no sense to me.
My question is, how many of you accept Christianity as an unquestioned truth, and why do you accept it? All others with different faiths and beliefs are willing to contribute. Just explain why you accept what you accept.

I am sorry to hear this from you. If I can give you but one suggestion, I would suggest that you take a look at your life and your actions during the time when you "followed God"...did you live your life according to the bible or were you "1/2 timing" so to speak? Read this:
The Lukewarm Church
14. ..."These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15. "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,[g] I will vomit you out of My mouth. 17. Because you say, "I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked-- 18. I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
22. "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

A lot of peopel who follow God today lose sight of their own shortcomings and put the blame of their "situations" on God. BTW...I am NOT preaching religion, I am preaching a personal one-on-one relationship with God... I am NOT telling anyone what church/denomination to join or trying to convert people to a religion because they are "bad people" if they do not and they will burn in Hell for not joining...I know A LOT of people on here are VERY GOOD PEOPLE, but without God no man can enter into God's kingdom after our lives here on earth our done...I am telling people to find Christ the best and fastest way possible and to find a decent church home that can further and strengthen their relationship with God according to THE Bible. I am NOT a "RELIGIOUS" fanatic...in fact I really DO NOT LIKE the word "Religion", for the simple fact of how people misuse it today , for example the "religious" symbols the "Pope" and "Virgin Mary"...where in the Bible does it ever say to worship and glorify these people/human beings...it does not. I am telling about my personal relationship with God. And to answer you, "Just explain why you accept what you accept.", I accept Christ as my Lord and saviour because I have seen him heal the sick, bless those in need and who have kept their faith in Him to "provide" for them and not use "illegal" ways to get the "resources" they needed when they were offered it and he has blessed me numerous time in ways that can not be explained other then God having a hand in the situation or AT LEAST to say a "Higher Power" was involved, to the point to where a complete stranger came up to me and fulfilled what I asked from God and I spoke to no one about. ALSO, remember, what A LOT of people foget is, "The power of life and death is in the tounge. And those who love it will eat its fruit." --Proverbs 18:21
I suggest that you find you own personal relationship with God, instead of trying to find a "religion".

At my office a woman came in and said she needed some help but was unable to pay cash and didn't have insurance. I'm not mean and I do tons of freebies because some people need a bit of understanding. Then she said the wrong thing in her little pity speech she gave me fiddling through her purse I could see her billfold and a bit of cash inside and the words " I'm a good Christian woman " came out of her mouth. I stood up and said well for that I would have to charge you more then. I opened my door and asked her to leave then the nasty mouth started. Boy I sure do love that good Christian word vomit!
On a personal level I could care if you worship the veil of unseen monkey tree huggers. But when churches have workout centers, saunas,CCD cameras in every room and the preacher drives around in a Bentley something?s not right. The worst part of it all is the evangelicals pray on the weak minded and elderly for their funds because those are the ones who feel you need to go and give to get your spot in where ever it may be. I see it every day couples fighting over money because the wife gave half of her husband?s paycheck to GOD (pastor bobbyjoeitakeyourmoney).
I feel religion is a dangerous weapon and it's been used for almost as long as the written language has been here and really need no part of it.
==============================
I am sorry to hear this also, remember that "humans" are not perfect and who knows if that woman really was a "christian" or even followed God's teachings...maybe that was her "act" to seem more "friendly/it's a topic starter for her/seem more innocent"?
Also, the Bible says that those who do God's work will be blessed and that Pastors are blessed that much more because their job is God's highest calling. I can not imagine being a Pastor of a 100 person church or even a 1,000 person church...that is a huge responsibility...that why God blesses Pastors, just like any other job, being a Pastor IS A JOB, and the more responsibility a person has the more they get paid. That's why you may see a Pastor with a 50 person church driving a Dodge Neon and then you see a Pastor with a 10,000 person church driving a Mercedes SL500...because God blesses that Pastor for being an excellent ROLE MODEL to thousands of people and touching so many peoples lives and for saving so many souls, which is God's highest calling, to make sure that His children make it to Heaven and are not tricked into believing in this world's false believings.
BTW...George Bush is in "Office" as the President of the United States and he admittedly follows God and the Bible's teachings, and I prayed, along with others, that President Bush would win both terms of Presidency. This is what I base my faith off of (see scripture below), BTW have not a majority of US President not be a believer in Christ.
"12. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance." --Psalm 33:12
Is the US not the most prosperous nation in the world? I know that I would not want to live in any other country...oh yea...BTW...how do you think we would have won the Revolution War if our founding fathers had not based the principles of this nation and it's constitution on the principle of the Bible and Jesus' teachings. Does our dollar bills and coins not say "In God We Trust"...remember that everytime you pick up US currency and use it. "In God We (the US and the county most of you live in) Trust".

The polls speak for themeselves.
Polls!!!
It's good to see 20 people have chosen "I asked God in my life to stay" in the polls! Do not be afraid to post you experiences and share them...the Bible says that following Christ is not a "walk in the park" and that people will ridicule you, but remember the reward in the end is what man should strive for. Also, remeber "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." --2 Timothy 1:6 If you do not feel like posting feel free to PM me and I will keep all conversations confidential at your request. God does not let those with an open and willing heart pass by.
