The Love Guru getting awful reviews

After watching about 3 of the trailers I give it -500/10. Looks completely stupid.

Not all all surprising. I remember vaguely it was supposed to come out earlier but got pushed back because of bad screening result.

If I recall the Austin Powers movies didn't all that great of reviews either. It seems to be along the same lines. I'll probably see it.

Get Smart also opening this Friday. 2 comedies, neither getting great reviews. Both will probably still pull $20-30M.

Is mike myers career as a comedian over ?

Possibly. Austin Powers was great. But then 2 & 3 were just constant rehashes of jokes from 1. Love Guru looks like more of the same just packaged with a different coat of paint.

Hard to imagine a Mike Meyers made movie could be too bad, but, those reviews are pretty rough. Then again, pretty much all Movie Critics hate comedy.

Have you seen Cat in the Hat?

if it was getting great reviews, would you have posted?

just curious

I posted to see people's reactions. It is Mike Myers first movie in a while.
you failed to answer my question.

Someone posted when Ironman was getting 90+ at RT so what's your point?

My favourite Myers movie was, and still is, So I Married an Axe Murderer; I still watch it periodically. I also liked the first Wayne's World and the first Austin Powers, but that's about it. Everything else was just a re-tread of earlier material.

you wanna go?

It looks like they took all of the Austin Powers jokes Myers ran into the ground by the time of Goldmember and just used them again with a different, and much lamer character. Myers should just stick to voice-overs.
