Could be, and may depend on ratings! Would the actors commit to a series? Battlestar G started the same way.

SPOILER!!

Now that joemillerisanobject (assuming that the one-eyed guy is telling the truth), I wonder what his special property is.

He takes the place of the original occupant. The occupant was invincible.

Well, all Objects cannot be harmed outside the room. I'm thinking of unique property.

A question: I missed the part about how the motel owners (the old guy and his wife lost in the room) found out about the Objects and what compelled her to conduct that experiment. How did they come to possess the key?

(potential spoiler alert)

The "Event" occured in 1961. The wife (manager) and the husband (janitor) were not there until 1966. So, seems to me that they were not around at the time of the "Event".

The wife found the key one day while working at the motel. Many, but not all of the "objects" were in the room went she/he first went in.

THose two along with their friends became the first gruop of "collectors", at least as far as we know.

As you know, some objects when combined with others exhibit different strange powers. According to the husband/janitor the wife/manager was obsesses with the objects and experimented with them. He felt she was already crazy by the time she tried her "last" experiment, trapping her in the rift or whatever.

I thought it was a great show. Very creative. Not too many "threads" like Lost where its hard to keep up with WTH is going on due to all the "bouncing around". The pace was good too, not slow at all (like Heroes can be). But yeah, they definately left it open for a follow-up TV series. At the end, the room door opened showing the "key" laying on the floor, presumable left to be discovered by someone else. Also Martin Ruber, who now thinks he's a "Prophet" is still around.

I thought the ending went too fast. It was never clearlyexplained how replacing the occupant would bring his daughter back. If the law of objects was 1 for 1, then how does he get his daughter back?

..and we never learned much of anything truthful about the legion.

I'm not sure why the law of objects would apply to the little girl (Annie, IIRC). She was not an object. However when the original "occupant" was destroyed (and he was an object) he was replaced by Joe apparently.

True, some (even many) things were not explained, but that only helps make way for a TV series.

But here's my theorie ATM on how she came back:

The occupant told Joe that there were many rooms - I was thinking he was making a reference to quantum phyics.

The so-called experiment which nearly destroys the world - brought all such "quantum rooms" into a simultaneous existance. Therefore the girl would be present.

Also, Kruetzfeld is now missing like the girl was (actually more like the women/hotel manger was). So, in a sense perhaps he replaced her (little girl).

His bodyguard is missing too. The whole end just felt rushed, like they were expecting to do a four parter, but ended up getting cut down.

Multiple realities/alternate universes that intersect at the room? Might explain why the Occupant thought he was married to the librarian. Joe's daughter (the actress is ADORABLE and reminds me of D Fanning) was sent to another reality and somehow either the Occupant or Joe Object was able to get to her.

I hate to admit it, but I didn't know that until Trell mentioned it

Ahhh... Interesting idea. So, he came from an alternate reality where he was married to her, instead of being "ripped" out of our reality.

That's exactly what I thought.

Wow this whole series was so interesting. I seriously hope they have a tv series.

i just finished watching it, very interesting stuff. kind of disappointing that it just ended, though. i thought they might add something more to the ruber sub-plot after that last scene he was in.

the bodyguard isn't missing, he zapped him with his glass eye.

The body guard was dead, along with the Son.... Kreutzfeld's purpose of obtaining the glass eye was to bring back his dead son. And yes we don't know what happens to him when he enters the room...

How come he didn't appear in the motel room along with the original Occupant and Joe? Also, how come killing the original Occupant, and Joe becoming the new Occupant, didn't erase his existence to the people that knew him?

With the current alternate universe/quantum physics theory, how come when people enter the room, they don't ever enter another universe when they exit? The original Occupant must have entered a new Universe in order to be "erased" from the universe that he entered.

What happens to Dr. Ruber?

I think Jennifer Bloom should do more nude scenes.. =P The "morning after" in the motel room scene didn't show enough naughty parts. If you think about it, the motel room is the PERFECT place to have midnight rendevous... all the sheets reset =)

this is my 3rd time watching it through, still going right now
love it, would make a great series especially since there are objects we dunno about, some objects that we do know about no one knows what they do, and of course the main character is now an object himself

I think that only the original event caused the occupant to be ripped from the world. When Joe kills him and replaces him he becomes an object, but the event does not reoccur so Joe does not get ripped from the world.

They obviously made this mini-series with the idea of making it into a real series if it does well (just like BSG). I am sure we will hear about it being picked up soon if it will be.
