It's on Friday nights now, Thursday was just the premiere. It wouldn't make much sense to have them going up against their own Thursday Night Football.
Oh cool. Thanks for the info. Excited for this Friday then.

After watching the first two episodes I'd give it 6.5/10 on the merits. It's good so far but not great. But if you held a gun to my head and asked me to rate the show overall I'd give it a 9/10 with the bonus coming from how much it's apparently pissing off the snowflakes that the skin tones aren't all lily white and the males aren't exhibiting toxic masculinity.

Oh wow I assumed it was Friday evening.

Very odd to literally put it right after their own broadcast of TNF. I guess they are assuming people will still be glued to Amazon Prime and will just change it over to LotR.

A few other big shows did that - The Boys is like that and another I used to watch. Maybe it's just an Amazon thing.

Only Murders would do 12am PST and 3am EST on Hulu.

No other shows have ever released right after TNF aired, because this is the first time Amazon has ever had TNF.

Musk slammed the show, tweeting that Tolkien would be turning over in his grave and that only Galadrial is a strong and nice character, all the men are cowards or weak.

Wow, musk's ego is such a fragile weak bitch

He has a mind of metal and wheels.

I'd give it 9/10. Despite having limited rights, they're throwing in a lot of easter eggs from the Sil for those who know what to look for. Surprisingly, my favorite part so far is seeing pre-Sauron Mordor. We've never really seen the point of view of men from that side, and what would cause them to ally with him. And obviously Khazad Dum is really well done.

Well, the cool thing with streaming is you can watch any show on demand after they are made available.

I'd like to see Galadriel as a bumbling fool, on a fool's quest to discover Sauron. And in the end of her fruitless life of searching, as she passes over the Sundering Seas, everyone tells her "I told you so."
So epic.

I'm white and a dude. Neither Rings of Power, the new GOT, She-Hulk, whatever - absolutely none of these shows have offended me nor made me feel attacked for any of my characteristics of straight, white and male. Why are so many straight white men so fragile?

Anyway, excited to see where tomorrow's episode goes. Everything can start to go to shit or we might see everything start to come together even more in a good way.

Because Fox/Tucker Carlson told them to be? :confused_old:

The only problem I have so far is the whole "Rings of Power" world feels a bit soulless and empty to me. They haven't made me care about any of the characters much either.

To be fair, at least imo the hulk thing is due to the continued pussification of Hulk in the MCU over the years. What is making it to screen time isn't the reason Hulk has a fan base. So we are left with a She-Hulk twerking? Iron Man died for this? I will try to check this out eventually but have other shows in my queue at the moment I need to get through.
Fixed to correct quote.

In regards to Musk, he was just talking about LOTR.

I attribute that to the focus being on the elves, who were always a bit standoffish compared to the other races. I dunno how much play the dwarves are going to get (a bunch I hope) but it looks like the harfoots are going to be the counterbalance to them, with a few humies in between. Hopefully they get enough play, given that the story is clearly focused on the elves.

This 3rd episode was spaced out better. No constant jumping of storylines every few minutes.

1. I find these orcs scarier than even the LOTR movies. They obviously look authentic but also seem smarter and harder to kill.
2. The scene with the two Numenorean ships was really cool. Really established them as master seafarers. And they obviously looked great.
3. Loved the figures carved into the cliffs. Really shows how monuments like the Argonath in particular are a cultural tradition.
4. I'm really wondering if they'll try to make Halbrand Sauron. Last week I was convinced the Stranger was Sauron though so I'm probably wrong about both.
5. Knowing Miriel is of the Faithful, I'm hoping the way she's interacting with Galadriel is just an act.
