Adam Sandler - meh . . . As one critic recently said about this movie and AS, "never in Hollywood has such a hypersuccessful career been based on such a mediocre talent."

He's had some good movies. I liked the Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates. I just saw Spanglish over the weekend and enjoyed it.

It's clear that people in the age group, 16-24, like Adam Sandler movies... and those 25+ do not.

It's just a age range thing... I like all of Adam Sandler's movies. 🙂 Something tells me I will like this one too.

Remakes suck

I beg to differ when discussing Oceans Eleven.

wah, are you saying you didn't like the original Oceans Eleven?

It's difficult to enjoy the original Ocean's Eleven today. I saw it for the first time 6 months after I saw the remake (was 23 at the time) and boy, old fashioned movies didn't have much pace or timing. I can recognize it was a great movie for its time, but compared to modern heist movies, it was pretty boring.

The only reason why I enjoyed the movie was that I recognized it was made long ago in a time of different movie standards. If the original Ocean's Eleven was released today, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

oh, and sorry for highjacking, haven't seen The Longest Yard yet.

Because PG-13 movies make more money?

I actually saw the original for the first time last weekend...I don't understand why everyone has such a hard-on for it. I'll concede that Burt Reynolds was great for the lead role, but other than that, the new movie was better than the old in every way.
