The Longest Yard

Just got back from The Longest Yard....if there was another thread and this is a repost, the OP needs to learn how to make more descriptive titles.

Once again I find why I use Rotten Tomatoes as an opposite indicater of if a movie is good...at least when it comes to comedies. Just about every comedy I've liked has gotten a bad score on RT(except for Anchorman, which scored an amazing 64).

I thought the movie was really good. Some of the stuff was a little ridiculous, but as a whole it wasn't too over the top, the comedy was well placed, and surprisingly Michael Irvin and Nelly weren't terrible actors.

I'd definitely recommend it.

cool, i'll keep that in mind. some friends of mine discussed seeing it tonight but we were tired after a road trip

yeah i was totally surprised how well nelly could act!

saw it earlier today...I liked it too!

It was cool seeing the ESPN personalities (Dan Patrick, Sean Salisbury, Chris Berman, Michael Irvin, etc.) and knowing who they were. Hmm, maybe I watch to much ESPN.

yah, i thought the movie was really good.. i've never seen the original, but this one was funny when it shoulda been funny, and heart felt when it shoulda been heartfelt.. i just think it was over all a well done movie.. and it was cool to have all those espn cameos.. i too watch too much espn

Anyone see burt reynolds lately? He's had so many face lifts you can actually see the vertical stretchmarks across his cheekbones when he smiles. 😕

I thought it was craptastic. Wasn't a comedy movie like the previews made it out to be. I would have rather seen Adam Sandler get raped in prison for two hours.

I bet you would:shocked:

Not seen it, but I find rotten tomatoes to be quite prudent.

Further, adam sandler has not had a movie worth watching come out in about a decade. He needs to just STOP.

I dunno. I liked 50 First Dates and Punch Drunk Love.

Big Daddy was kinda funny, too.

You sound like the RT critics. Have you READ their reviews for the likes of Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore? They were awful too.

movie was pretty good.

i didn't like Adam Sandler playing the part tho, i couldn't take him seriously enough, to me, he will never be what Burt Reynolds was to our generation.

other than that, most of the movie was pretty good.

Adam Sandler - meh . . . As one critic recently said about this movie and AS, "never in Hollywood has such a hypersuccessful career been based on such a mediocre talent."
