Awesome ceremony and awesome olympics. Congrats to Great Britain & London for hosting the world in such a wonderful manner.

Will urine/blood samples be kept for like 20 years in case technology to detect such steroid/enhancement drugs catches up? :\

from what I remember of the earlier blowup, the Jamaican olympic committee doesn't have a random testing schedule which is partly what lead to the lewis-bolt brewhaha.

just checked the final tally, china glad the games came to an end as the ruskies started to put some effort into matching their total. and usa almost squeaked bu with most in every category but the ruskies snapped a couple bronzes over the weekend to take that category.

I was watching the end ceremony while at work and could not help but think of all that must go into making that work. Everything from running the sound system, lighting, cueing up everything etc..

I've run shows (obviously MUCH smaller) and there is a fraction of lights and sound sound channels/mics and music to worry about but it can still get pretty hectic at times, can only imagine what their systems must be like. Probably lot of people in the background making sure everything is smooth. Would actually be neat to see the behind the scenes stuff.
