i wish they would come (even ppv) a way to watch them all live with replay's all day. none of the bullshit fluff. just the competition. all of them.
 
I also found it distasteful how they zoomed right in on Jordyn Wieber crying when she learned she didn't qualify. It would have shown more class to focus on the winners' celebration and then focus on Wieber after she composed herself.

I found it amusing that they were all "We're going to give her some time to compose herself before we interview her" but then they went and interviewed Raisman (or whatever her name is) while Wieber was standing 2 feet behind her.

Yeah. i was like WTF!? but both Raisman and Jordan showed a lot of class. Even though the rules are fucking stupid. When you don't have the top 24 gymnast competing you really can't say you have the top in the world can you?

our version would be like if pbs covered it....but that woulda required an act by congress or whatever. pay a reasonable fee, mandate that pbs is one of the ones to air the olympics, the other networks can bid, but since pbs already sets the bar far lower than what nbc would have been charged in the past and the fact that they would have to compete with them for viewers, the resulting bid price would be far more reasonable.

but congress is too retarded to do such a thing.

the us should throw its weight around on this, we make up half the broadcast revenue of the ioc, based on one freakin channel only.

IOC is a fucking greedy organization. They take all the profit and leave all the debt to the host city. But somehow countries line up to get shafted.

Montreal just paid off their Olympic stadium a couple of years ago...

yeah when Chicago was trying to get i was on the fence. i didn't want my taxes to go up to pay for it and the security but i would have loved to get tickets to the woman's gymnastics and the wrestling events
