I prefer the R32 Skyline GT-R because it combines the best of the FR and 4WD drivetrains. However, the R32 is just a toy in front of the LanEvo.

A FWD econobox based AWD performance car is still not a sports car.

Did I say it was a sports car? Oh, and you obviously don't know anything about the LanEvo, so step off rice boy.

It kills tons of sports cars in raw numbers.

You hate rice AND the lancer? The lancer is about as close to japanese anti-rice as you can get. It may be ugly, but it doesnt have a bunch of hentai decals plastered to its sides. 😉

Besides, i'ts fast as $&%#! 0-60 in 5.7s :Q

If I created the worlds best handling and fastest sports car, but made it look like a giant dildo, would you drive it?

Looks DO mean something.

"Looks before Performance" is the entire philosophy of all this drifting BS. People are drifting because they think it looks cool, not because they get around the track faster. Taken straight from the article in the first post:

In Japan in gymkhana, the cornering speed is a lot faster [compared with drifting] because of the slick tires," according to Ueo. "Because I'm used to the speed, I am able to control the car at the slower speeds for drifting.

This whole drifting fad is just "typical ricer" crap.

Seeing as how no such car exists, your example is a gross exageration and is completely irrelevant. We're not talking about possibilities here, we're talking about actualities.

The Lancer Evo is a badass mofo of a car, and anyone who disagrees either
a) knows nothing about cars
b) has never ridden in/driven one
c) is a motorhead who thinks only American cars can be fast

Have you ever heard of a guy by the name of Keichi Tsuchiya? He's known as the "drift king" in Japan. I guarantee you he can get around *any* track faster by drifting than by driving "normally". True drifting has nothing to do with the powersliding competitions you see today, drifting is an effective means for getting through corners as quickly as possible without having to use a "grip" style of driving. Depending on the vehicle's drivetrain, power, weight, and the track, said vehicle can often times corner faster by drifting than by using grip.

😕 Are you calling me a drifter? I was the one who said that drifting is slower than not drifting in that drifting thread. As far as I know, drifting is for fun, not looks.

The article was about drifting, I don't know why you think I was talking about you.

And if it was about fun rather than looks, what are the judges for?

We all know that drifting is the best! Thats why all the F1 drivers do it.

/me scratches head

am i missing something here or is this a competition to see whos car has the worst traction. i have a friend with a gutted 83 mustang with a shot suspension that drifts around corners even when he dosen't want it too. i should call him up and have him compete in one of these things.
