Cross one of Powell's list of "evidence" against Iraq - Hans Blix dismisses the claim of mobile weapons facilities in Iraq.
Hans Blix said there was no evidence of mobile biological weapons laboratories or of Iraq trying to foil inspectors by moving equipment before his teams arrived.
Powell also used the aluminum tubes for Iraq's nuclear program distortion, something that the IAEA has stated to be not true.
Add this to all of the Iraq-al Queda links that have been proven to been false, and the US appears to have a serious credibility problem when talking about Iraq.

Ok, if you are having something hidden from you how can you really say that you know they are not hiding it?

Ever seen the ostrich stick his head in the sand to hide from his problems? Guess we know it has a name now

If U.S. know where the stuffs are, why not just tell Blix to go to that place?

If they do have the stuffs, IRAQ is dumb enough to hide it, because once they find those weapons, U.S. will attack them, and IRAQ will lose.

Why not just get rid of those weapons, and become rich selling oil.

damn confusing..

I still don't really get what Bush is up to. If he wants to invade Iraq and take their oil so badly, why can't he wait for the inspections to finish, so that he will have justification for war, and no one will complain? Why is he now making up sh!t that no one in their right mind will believe, thus ensuring he has no credibility?

Wow, and then we'd have some real evidence, instead of this all this circumstantial stuff, like "Iraqi general A says to Iraqi general B 'blah, blah aluminum tube blah blah.'"

That's an interesting blow to your credibility since Blix's comments were made, yesterday, and Powell's speech was today.

Doh... could it be because the Iraqis have been actively hiding them? Do you know if Blix saw the photos Powell showed, today, in the Security Council?

Did you actually read the entire IAEA statement? I found this paragraph interestingly consistant with Powell's presentation:
10. While the matter is still under investigation, and further verification is foreseen, the IAEA's analysis to date indicates that the specifications of the aluminium tubes sought by Iraq in 2001 and 2002 appear to be consistent with reverse engineering of rockets. While it would be possible to modify such tubes for the manufacture of centrifuges, they are not directly suitable for it. It should be noted, however, that the attempted acquisition of such tubes is prohibited under paragraph 24(a) of resolution 687 (1991), which, inter alia, proscribes the supply to Iraq of components of arms and related matériel.
I guess my point is to ask, what is your point? :disgust:

I doubt that. they just won't say, because once the bombs start falling they will fall where that stuff ended up.

if they are moving stuff before the inspectors get there, then the inspection process isn't working. they are suppose to be forthcoming in giving up their weapons, not hiding and moving them. I don't understand why some ppl don't understand this

so U.S. want to go to war to find the weapons that U.S. does not know where it is?

I guess this is going to hide and seek war, not air war. Because U.S. cannot drop bombs if we do not know where it is? huh...

I am willing to pay extra $$ for gas, if it means saving life of one U.S. soilder.
It seems to by easy for us sitting here in front of the computer say let's go to war, but if you/your husband/your kids were the solider in the front line, what would you be thinking?

If you want the war, why not you join the army and fight in the front line?

I totally agree to find the weapon and destory them.... but let's find them first..

Many are to young to have seen the Three Stooges at any length and examine their modus operandi properly.

Were they able to do this, they would understand what we are seeing.

It's not about the freakin' oil people!!!!

Get this through your thick heads!!

He has TONS of VX gas. Huge piles of Anthrax.

What do you think he plans on doing with it? Looking at it??????

He's been using it on his own people for years. And now linked with Al-Qaeda, the potential for the use of those chemical/biological weapons greatly increases.

Yes, but as the article states, Blix's comments were in response to the Powell's 'evidence.'
Do you know if Blix saw the photos Powell showed, today, in the Security Council?
You would think that the US shared them with Blix long ago.
Did you actually read the entire IAEA statement? I found this paragraph interestingly consistant with Powell's presentation:
Yes, and the IAEA still contends that the tubes are not for a centrafuge. They have no evidence to conclude that it was for nuclear purposes.
I guess my point is to ask what your point is?
The US has lied in the past about Iraq, and is not telling the truth right now. The administration's basis for war rests on a bunch of circumstantial evidence which would normally be disgarded as a conspiracy theory.
