For years the Liberal in this country have pushed a doctrine fo tolerance. We must tolerate this we must tolerate that. What they should have been pushing was a doctrine of rationalism, individualism and free thought and all of the other good things to come out of the enlightement.I say they painted themsleves into a corner because the doctrine of tolerance disallows them to some degree to take an objective stand on issues. That is why you have people on this board mocking the libs for not accepting the new religous fundamentalism. ..and you know what they are right. You guys played the tolerance card for way to long...and see the problem with that is you must now tolerate those who are not tolerant. and who never claimed to be. If you dont accept the fundies you will get labeled a hypocrite which you will be. You guys made your bed......

I leave with a quote which if uttered by a politco today would get him ridiculed all day long...but would surely get my vote.

They [the clergy] believe that any portion of power confided to me, will be exerted in opposition to their schemes. And they believe rightly; for I have sworn upon the altar of god, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. But this is all they have to fear from me: and enough, too, in their opinion.

-Thomas Jefferson

for the record let me state I am a godless libertarian. Who did not vote in this election.

Fsck them, most people don't want Liberals running the country. Unfortunately the Conservatives believe that means we want their form of extremism which also isn't true. However given the choice between the two evils, 51% chose the Conservative extremism over the 48% who chose the Liberal extremism. Hopefully one of these days we will have a choice that isn't so odorous.

Try saying what you want to say simple like so I can understand it. You just sound confused to me.

I don't see either side as extremist, as they want to keep most of the govenrment as is; however one side (which wants to amend the constitution) is a bit hypocritical. For example Nevada, a state which went heavily to Bush over family values is also the brothel capital of the US.

One must feed ones family.

It is the tourists that come for the pleasures that are provided here.

Most of the day trippers happen to come from CA.
