The liberal media is so full of it

Just watched NBC news for 5 minutes:

1) They stated the "misleading" ballot was only used in Palm Beach County. It's already been established that this ballot was used in many other places, where no one had any problems with it. Verdict: BLATANT LIE

2) They had some fat guy on there saying that he would bet that Buchanan did not get one vote. What the media has yet to mention is that Buchanan has relatives there supporting his campaign, and actually got ALMOST TWICE AS MANY VOTES LAST TIME HE WAS ON THE BALLOT THERE. They're basically trying to pass ignorant one sided speculation off as fact.

What are you afraid of? The truth? In many places there are irregularities with the ballot. You object to the knowledge of this being disimmenating by the media? Is it conservitive if its on Fox? Why don't you go there to watch if you don't like cnn or msnbc. Fox did a great job this week.LOL;)

The ballot design in question was used in 1996 with no complaints andis only an issue now because Gore lost and the Left is frantic that the era of Big Government may come to an end. If they can't steal the election, they're going to do what they can to delegitimize the election so they can always say, "President Bush, who didn't win the popular vote and was awarded the election in a contentious and controversial electoral decision, spoke before a group...."

The Left thinks they're entitled to anything they want. The Right thinks you should earn it. That explains the conflict here. Bush earned the win under the rules in place and the Goreistas will scream like hysterical cheerleaders until they have their way.

The media's use of skewing language is constant. During the run-up, I saw a story that described "partisan Republicans and staunch Democrats". That's also why the pro-life side is referred to as "opponents of a woman's right to choose". You never hear the pro-abortion side called "opponents of a baby's right to not be killed", do you? No need to be surprised that the press is slanted and that liberals can be pretty nasty when they don't get their way.

DefRef,

Very well said. Be careful, though, you included far too many facts.

Again, nicely written post DefRef. But, facts put fear in the hearts of the Democrats. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering....

Our nation is doing the suffering.

Sorry for the Star Wars Yoda reference, but I couldn't resist. :)

The liberal media is not biased (hehe). Check out this CNN News Story. Count the number of times both the elephant and donkey sinks. It's exactly 4 times each. Now that's fair, don't you think? Of course if you measure the area taken up by the donkey you will notice it's .05% greater and Number Seven is a bit longer but I'm certain those are flukes...

They call Florida at 7:30 or 8:00 for Gore, this was an obvious attempt for the media to try and suppress the republican vote in the counties were the polls were still open in florida and else where in the country. If it were to be decypter it was the three big networks saying "go home you republicans the race is over Al Gore has won". Anybody who doesn't think the media is bias is stupid or blind.

How come only people in Palm Beach had problems with the ballot, and only came forward AFTER it was suggested?

Your arguments hold no water at all.

-So it's been established that this ballot was used in many other counties in the US. It was put in the news papers as a sample, and no one complained. No one complained at the polls, where they conceivably should have. If you messed up, you would know right then that you messed up.

-It turns out that Pat Buchanan actually got almost twice as many votes from the same county last time he was on the ballot there. As was mentioned before, he has friends/relatives there supporting his campaign.

-As for the 19,000 votes that were thrown out, it turns out that 26,000 votes were also thrown out in a very Republican county. Fact of the matter is, thousands of votes are thrown out all the time due to errors in the ballots.

Bush won. He won again in the recount. You wonder why he's challenging a new, hand recount?? Obviously they are worried about tampering...how else could the Democrats hope the results would change?

That's how sad your fight is, that even I can blow all your arguments out of the water. No, they weren't just blown out of the water. They were soaked in gas, ignited, and then drop kicked off a cliff.

<< No one complained at the polls, where they conceivably should have. >>

Wrong...wrong wrong....
Actualy, so they received so MANY complaints that a memo was written sometime in the middle of election day, trying to straighten out the problem.

<< Obviously they are worried about tampering...how else could the Democrats hope the results would change? >>

The results will change if ballots that couldn't be read by machine, can be properly counted.

Let's get an accurate count, find out who has the most votes, and be on with it. Both sides are within their rights to ask for manual counts. So far manual counts have only be requested in a small amount of counties in Florida.

That still doesn't explain why these people complaining only recently "realized" that they may have voted wrong. Bush has already won twice, doesn't that say something?

EngineNr9 is right -- you have thousands of people suddenly saying, "I voted for Buchanan!!" You know, I bet the number who have complained that they are SURE they voted for Buchanan far exceeds the number who actually did. It's the power of suggestion.

<< The results will change if ballots that couldn't be read by machine, can be properly counted. >>

And those ballots are being checked by three Democrats as the final decision makers. Further, if these types of problems are common, and they do appear to be, then the errors will be evenly spread out among Republicans and Democrats, thereby negating each other. If they only recount those heavily Democratic counties, then we're not seeing the "will of the people" we keep hearing so much about. However, I'm sure Bore will be happy with the will that is his way.

The vote was counted and recounted. Bush still won. Absentee ballots are still arriving. Count those and be done with it. Of course, I guess we can't discount the specter of a Republican conspiracy to rig the tabulation machines to throw out ONLY Democrat ballots. Yes, that's it -- that's what happened.
