The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Man... I forgot how fun this game was. It's also amazing how after 14 years, you still remember where all the hidden things are, and how to beat the little logic puzzles.

I got all 3 pendants and the master sword in a few hours.

Anyone else played this game lately? Have any old stories about playing it when it first came out?

Who else thinks it's the best Zelda game of them all?

I think it just might be the best one to me. I enjoyed the first one for NES, the 2nd one kinda stunk(and it was HARD), and then LttP came out for SNES. 🙂 It had wonderful graphics for the game that it was and it WAS a lot of fun. 🙂 I wasn't as big of a fan of the 3d versions but they were still pretty good.

I think I played the SNES version a couple years ago, then I played through the GBA re-run of it last year.

Always an awesome game.

When I was a kid, I didn't know you could light torches with the lantern. I was stuck in the same place for two years, before I passed to the Dark World.

LOL. There are so many little tricks like that in the game that you would just be stuck on forever.

I remember I couldn't get into the palace to get the pearl forever because I never found the monkey that opens it up for you.

i just put it on my psp last week. i've been meaning to play it again, i never really played more than a few hours on the snes version...

I play that again about once a year all the way through. My buddy and I got REALLY drunk one night and he said I couldnt finish it without having to go to the bathroom (start to finish) It was a hard run but I won $50 bucks. Don't mess with me when it comes the Zelda!

Don't you have to do that right at the beginning, to make a chest appear after you talk to your uncle?

I'm gonna play it sometime soon, now that I've got an old PC hooked up to my TV and a playstation controller hooked up to that. Not exactly authentic but close enough.

I got into Zelda on the N64. When I heard that classics were better, I tried playing them, but I didn't have as much fun.

In other news... I'm very excited about The Twilight Princess.

best game ever. after we beat it the first time, we realized they counted up the total number of times you died in each castle, so my brothers spent nearly a day determined to beat the game with a big zero in the number of deaths.

the original was the best I think...even my mom liked that one...but link to the past was a great game too! my 2nd favorite

In dark world, in that castle that's in the town with the thief guy who hates light... You gotta blow up the floor in that top room to let the light in. Well, I got stuck there cause I couldn't plant bombs close enough to the cracks in the floor cause of that stupid fence. I tried blowing it up from the outside, I even went and got the superbomb and tried bringing it in (didn't work)... everything. Then I reloaded the game and tried the castle again. There's a treasure chest in that room and normally I just opened them up and quickly hit buttons without reading the messages about how to use bombs, arrows etc, but I actually read it this time.

"You found some bombs! You can pick up and throw a bomb you have placed..."

I felt dumb... 😛
