Actually it's more like this

I just happen to like video games too. :awe:

Why are these sorts of things so popular with nerdy/geeky folk? Is it somehow trying to prove your physical prowess to others?

Dunno, why do I race BMX or build R/C cars or go fishing, or diving, or play foosball? Cause it's fun perhaps?

Those are just fun hobbies.

I'm a software engineer, and those little runs are so popular that they have company meetings to go out and do them together. Mud runs, obstacle course challenges, marine boot camp marathons, etc. All the engineers are doing it.

Now if we could get a sequel to links awakening I could die happy.

We had two of them, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. I would love a 3d remake though. All the fan remakes have failed.

The Oracle games are, quite honestly, in the top tier of the Zelda games. It's sad so many haven't played them.

They honestly were great. I find the DS Zeldas completely underwhelming in comparison, which is funny since OoA and OoS were made by Capcom.

Is this to be playable at E3? Did Nintendo confirm that in a Direct? I didn't see it mentioned.

Nothing quite like the feeling of getting the code at the end of one, being like OH SNAP, buying the other, using the code, and beating the 2nd to find the true final boss...

I think you might be talking about the Game Boy Player, which attached to the Gamecube and allowed you to play Game Boy games on the TV. When the Wii-U and its touchscreen controller were announced, I figured it was the perfect set up for creating a DS Player, since you could have your TV represent the top screen of the DS and the controller's touchscreen represent the bottom screen of the DS. I'm surprised they haven't done anything like that yet.

No, it wasn't the GB Player. It was something I ordered from China through DX or something. You had to take apart the GBA and attach a ribbon cable in line with the one inside it already and it had the R/W/Y cords to go to the TV.

It's just an HD remake. I really loved WW but not a system seller.

Really? The Wind Waker not a system seller?

I assume you mean today, in this generation as a remake, right? Because in it's day, on the GC, I think it was about as much of a system seller as any game can be.
But I agree with you if you're talking about this time around; I doubt it will move too many units on its own.
