yeah. i stare at a computer monitor all day. when i get home from work to kick back i don't want to stare down at a 3" screen. i wanna stare at my 10' screen with my feet up kicked back.

Do you read books in bed? Or in a chair?

It's sort of the same deal. Just kick back in bed with some pillows propped up and it works great.

I honestly don't see the big deal.

And yet nothing announced for their failing console. I love Zelda but the 3DS already has enough good games. They need to focus on the WiiU.

I thought that too. The only announcement was that Pikmin 3 was delayed lol. Then again, this Nintendo Direct was announced to be a 3DS featured event.

I think they will be making a lot of buzz at E3 though.

i dont read books period other than books about programming languages when i wanna learn a new one. when i do that, i don't "read" them straight through, i will be at a computer going over stuff to learn it. im just not into handhelds, no matter how good the games are on them. owned 2 ds's and a psp, both of which rarely got any playtime after the initial purchase.

I have a hard time with handhelds as well, probably due to being older now and not wanting to use a small screen.
I can and do play them, but unless I'm somewhere that playing a console just isn't possible I don't bother.
I'd love to play a Zelda LTTP sequel (or whatever it is), but having it on a handheld is probably a deal killer for me.
Back when I had a GB Advance, I actually bought an add on that you I to physically install that gave it TV output capability. I'd pay a bit extra for that capability for the modern handhelds (preferably without having to install it myself).

Yeah, you would think by now they would have HDMI out built into them. I can't stand handhelds either, my neck gets sore just thinking about it.

I bought a regular DSi XL to play Radiant Historia despite the 3DS XL having just launched due to it being the best choice for the largest screen at the native DS resolution and aspect ratio without scaling.

It looks awesome.

Doesn't the 3DS keep the same aspect ratio with DS games? Mine have never stretch the full length of it.

3DS is higher resolution. You either have to play with a centered postage stamp or scaling even if the aspect ratio is correct.

DSi XL is the largest screen format for native 1:1 pixel art goodness for standard DS titles.

can you imagine how many people would run and buy a wii-u if this was announced for wii-u?

stupid nintendo they really are quite clueless about the market now a days. they should go the sega route and just make games for the true next gen consoles.

and by "should" i mean that is what i wish they would do. i'm sure their 3ds market is still killing it $$ wise.

Maybe they are cooking up OOT 2 for Wii-U :)

Meh, not a fan of the multiple level stuff, and why do they have to put that paper mario shit in it?

I thought shrinking down in the Minish Cap was going to suck but every Zelda game seems to make them enjoyable so I'm not worried at all.

Nintendo has announced a complete overhaul and upgrade to The Wind Waker by the end of this year for the Wii U. Full HD and other graphical improvements, as well as rumored gameplay tweaks and additions.

This is to precede the next major Zelda installment, as yet unnamed, but in development.

WTH? The Cel shading looked just fine in WW. I think this offers nothing to boast over.

As for the multi-level part of the 3ds Zelda - it reminds me of Bomberman 64. I wasn't sure I'd like it at first but I played the crap out of that game.

I loved Wind Walker but this is just an HD rerelease, not a system seller.

Yup. I think LttP could have done great on the Wii U. Same goes with Luigi's Mansion.

My girlfriend keeps getting pissed when these games get announced.

"Oh I love that series! Oh wait, on the 3DS? Screw you Nintendo"

She hates playing on the 3DS.

dude luigi's mansion is awful. it was a shitty gamecube launch title. granted i haven't played the newer one, but it looks identical to the gc one which was terrible and a crappy game to launch a console with, especially using one of the mario brothers.

I didn't play the gamecube one, but the 3DS one is pretty awesome (86 on metacritic). The gameplay is unique and the gamerewards exploration and execution.

What did you hate about the first one?

I think you might be talking about the Game Boy Player, which attached to the Gamecube and allowed you to play Game Boy games on the TV. When the Wii-U and its touchscreen controller were announced, I figured it was the perfect set up for creating a DS Player, since you could have your TV represent the top screen of the DS and the controller's touchscreen represent the bottom screen of the DS. I'm surprised they haven't done anything like that yet.
