Hi,

I have just downloaded the latest epox bios for my 9NPA ultra mobo and I have riased the fsb up to 240 like my previous settings and it will not keep these values.

It just defaults back to stock settings.

Anyone else having this trouble?
It was the same on my mates mobo too.Flashed to latest bios wont save settings.

saves vcore sttings and memory settings but not fsb settings.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

emailed epox and they said:

Dear Sir

When new bios release ,we will upload to website for user download update.

Hi,

I have an EP-9NPA+Ultra motherboard with the latest bios. 9npa5c06.bin (06 Dec 2005)

However when I raise my CPU frequency to 240 for example and save changes when I restart the settings has not taken effect.

It saves the memory settings etc but not the CPU frequency settings.

This did not happen with 9npa5a18.bin bios. I could quite happily raise the CPU frequency and the settings would take effect on reboot.

Just to be sure I flashed colleague?s bios to the latest version (he has the same motherboard) and the same thing happened.

Anyhow I flashed back to 9npa5a18.bin bios. and everythings ok again currently running at 2550 ghz

Hi,

That BIOS is old now if you use Magic Flash in Windows you will see there is a newer BIOS dated 21st Dec 05,I'm using it right now FYI.

post a link I dont see it on the site anywhere.

gags: As I have already stated you need to use Epox's Windows Magic flash utility to get the latest BIOS,the BIOS on Epox's website has not updated yet, which is why it is still showing old one.

I must be going crazy.

Magic flash is only showing me 9npa5c06.bin ?????

Must be,I flashed mine lastnight when Magic Flash told me newer BIOS out,I checked it on screen shows 21st Dec 05 🙂.

Yes, close everything first and don't be running overclocked settings when you do it. It's recommended to be at stock settings when using the Magic Flash utility. I did flash my BIOS once while overclocked and there were no problems, so you could probably get away with flashing while overclocked, but I'd set things to stock just in case.
