The last time it happened was 30 years ago

I got stung by a hornet today at work. Stuck a survey stake into the ground where a hornets nest was. As I stood there talking to my colleague, I heard a buzzing noise....and it kept getting louder and louder. Once I realized what it was, I ran like a little girl. Got hit by one hornet on the arm, while another tried to get my other arm but I was able to thwart his attack.

Fuck that hurts.....for a long time I might add.

Anyways, my thirty year drought has come to an end. 🙁

I'm probably going on 6-7 years since the last time I got stung. I fucking hate wasps. I'd totally be ok with summer if it weren't for them. Goddamn things are everywhere right now.

Last year I was doing some yard work digging holes for plants. Hit a yellow jacket nest that was in the ground with a shovel. Riled up the little bastards and one of them nailed me right on the ass as I was running away screaming like a little girl. I had a welt the size of a golf ball there for a few hours.

I got stung by something last week mowing the lawn. Right on the top of the ankle where it bends every time I take a step. That hurt

Not sure if it was a wasp, yellow jacket or what but it hurt.

I have heard of people parking lawn mowers over yellow jacket nests.
I just poured gasoline in the one I found in my yard, then lit a gas trail to it.

I'm 27 years old never stung. Of course Winter here is about 6 months out of the year and I live in a very urban area so that lowers my odds significantly.

Got stung 2 years ago after not being stung for about 13 years. I actually didn't even know it happened at the time as the thing wasn't super painful. I was carrying a hose & reel from my front yard to back yard and felt a few pricks on my arm. Looked at my arm a little while later and noticed some raised swollen bumps. At first, I didn't know what it was until later in the day when I went back to move the reel back and saw wasps coming out of the hollow center. Put 2 + 2 together and realized I had been stung earlier in the day.

Last time I got stung was a couple years ago, back when I was still flying RC planes. Went to help a guy who had downed his. Walking in tall brush. Must have stepped on a nest or something. ah heck crawled into my right shoe and stung me through my sock on the back of my ankle. Hurt so bad I had to drive home barefoot.

I got stung by a bee right in the throat while riding my motorcycle on the interstate 2 weeks ago. fuck me that hurt.

When I was a kid, at the cottage there was these steps going up a hill and every time someone walked them they'd get stung. We and other kids tried to figure out where the nest was and we figured it was under the last landing of the stairs, so we kept running up to it with large pails of water and sand to try to kill them.

My grandpa is like, the nature whisperer or something, goes up to the landing that we've been shoving water, sand, and sticks in and running. He puts his hand under it and he's like "yep I can feel the nest, wow this is a big one" and just going on, as we're standing like 30 feet away wondering how the hell he's not getting stung. Meanwhile, each one of us got stung standing far from him LOL.

I got stung on the foot. It hurt quite a bit, but a single sting is not too bad, like a horse fly except the pain lasts way longer. I'd hate to step right on a nest and get stung by many though. 😱 It's funny though since during this whole ordeal I only got stung when my grandpa went and put his hand in there, and he did not even get stung at all. My friends got stung way more while we were messing around with the nest.

Well, they were warning you off, but you weren't paying attention.
