There needed to be a sex scene.

Wanna see someone get their wang zugzd?

zugzd?

Yeah, that's right. You know you wanted to see it...

One more post for you, pontifex...one more...

who cares about another post?
what the hell does zugzd mean?

apparently it's a play on my nick. This person doesn't realize that "zugzwang" is an actual word, and not a play on Zug's Wang.

A very moving story of a prisoner of war befriending the enemy. This movie was made before tom cruise went pyscho and while we're on the subject, I thought MI3 was really good too.

I also loved The Last Samurai, easily one of my favorite movies from Cruise. I'm not his biggest fan either, but with the rest of the cast the movie had, it was hard to mess up I'm sure. Great story overall, it really comes across well with the emotions involved.

The Japanese woman is hot.

Yes, especially in kimono.

However, I really can't agree with killing a japanese male and stealing his wife.

yah...in this day and age the proper thing is pay someone else to kill them....

great, completely void of historic fact, movie.

its not void of historic fact, its based on japans history. sure its been hollywoodized, but well, its what happens when u make a movie. its a nice first i guess, not many american movies are about japan in this period of change. i remember seeing some american kids surprised samuri were going up against guns and stuff during the trailer and talking smack.

I didn't think it was a very good movie. It didn't help that I was immediately put off by the movie because of the title, but I still ended up watching it when it came out on dvd. I'm glad Cruise wasn't the 'last' samurai, and if I remember right, not one at all.

It had some truth and fiction as expected. The samurai weren't as angelic as the movie made them out to be. Quite the contrary from what I've read.

hah angelic...they were much much worse, they were the oppressor that enforced the harsh feudal cast system. so yes that part was iffy. but i guess its the same way with hollywood and knights.

Ken Watanabe is a good actor. Cruise surviving at the end made the movie too ridiculous.
I thought the death charge was ridiculous especially with the earlier reference to the stand at Thermopylae.
