The last quarter inch of beer in the can/bottle/40

I'm sitting around drinking at what, nearly 2 in the afternoon and reading that story on Polo and the orgy a few threads down. This can't be too healthly.

Anyways, I've been tossing out the cans at the last quarter inch or so as they are just unbearable to drink. I think most of us get queasy towards the bottom. Do you guys toss them out before their all gone? Does it really taste worse then the first few sips, or is it just our imagination?

If you let it get that low before finishing it off, yeah it tastes too frothy. If you finish it off when you get down to about an inch it's fine.

I can't stand it but I hate to leave "floaters". Forties I will ditch without hesitation once it hits the ass end though.

if it's still cold then you're fine, if not it's nasty

unless you chug a 40oz, the bottom will be gross

On the few occassions I have drunk in the past, the last few ounces at the bottom of a 40oz must be akin to drinking part piss, motor oil, raw sewage and liquified entrails. This is only slightly worse than the taste to begin with IMHO.

Wow!! You have tried a lot of things

Normally you hear this because all the dead yeast has settled to the bottom makeing the bottom of the beer taste yeasty. But most modern mass produced beers have been filtered so much you would be lucky to find a single yeast cell live or dead, so that is not normally a problem. The only other thing I can think of is that by the time you get to the end the beer is getting warm and most American beers don't taste good warm, try useing a koozie and see if it makes a diffrence.

the stuff at the bottom is usually a warm mix of yeast sediment and backwash. I hardly ever finish a beer to the last drop

Hmm.. this thought just came to me.

While taking a piss, everything is now crystal white. I would imagine this is because not all of the alcohol can't get absorbed into the blood stream and is just sent straight to the bladder to get released. Would this mean my piss contains a large content of alochol?

I dunno. Save it and drink it later. Report back.

I drink beer from a glass if I have the option first of all, which makes it go down faster. At least for me. A 12 ounce beer is around 3-4 drinks. It doesn't have time to get nasty before the next one is opened and poured.

Even the 25.4 oz bottles don't have bad beer at the bottom. Don't spit in your beer and don't take forever to drink it and you won't have that problem.

And another thing. Don't drink anything made by Anheiseur.

Apparently you missed the "must be akin to" part of my post.

It's the same beer on top or the bottom. Why does it taste the same at the beginning and the end when you shotgun one?

The difference in taste is most likely due to the temperature change of the beer when you've been babysitting that thing too long.
