Naughty Dawg games are the only ones I don't have to wait for reviews prior to pre-ordering. Egg had a deal w/ $15 GC, effectively making it $45 on release. No brainer.

I would a preferred an end or the world/apocalypse theme w/o the zombies since everyone would be fighting each other for survival anyways. I kinda thought that was how the games was presented the first time I seen it in screenshots. Anyways I really hope they get the game play mechanics down right. Nothing was more frustrating then the gun fighting in Uncharted.

This game has both. You have to avoid/fight the infected (not necessarily zombies BTW) and also encounter less reputable people who are not infected and want your supplies. It's a very interesting game.

Played the demo 5 times. It's short, only 15 minutes but I found many various ways to handle each situation and the combat is intense and very much unlike anything I expected.

I've had it preordered for ever on Amazon and just looked at their promo credit being for the Amazon Video stuff only.. ugh. Wish I got in on the Newegg deal. I'm probably gonna switch to Gamestop cause they give more pre-order bonuses, though I'm hoping Fry's has some type of deal on it on release day.

i typically know what games i want to preorder (or at least purchase day 1 i rarely preorder games) months before they are released. i don't think in the past decade that a review has ever changed a decision i've made about a purchase.

If there's a demo I'm going to check it out. I am much more interested in it now after seeing some of the YouTube footage. There was a good 15 minutes of no combat. What a refreshing change that is!

I think I remember reading that naughty dog has no plans to release the demo outside of the on disk god of war disk. That could change though, we will see

No kidding. And when you get into combat its sporadic and random and suspenseful and not after following a completely straight dirt path blocked by a invisible tunnel and coming up on a predictably wide open area with chest high cover where you know you'll spend the next 15 minutes fighting waves with every step. Amazing.

Polygon brought up my one main concern during their review, the controls while shooting. It sounded really loose, just like it was for Uncharted. In Uncharted, it wasn't a big deal because you have plenty of ammo laying around, but it concerns me in this game.

There is lock on aiming and I will say this...if you go around shooting you will die and never finish the game. The game is not a shooter and IMO the controls for shooting are not bad whatsoever. It is my firm opinion that anyone complaining about the shooting is just playing the game incorrectly.

I know that it isn't made to be played as a straight shooter, but I wouldn't discount concerns voiced from a review sight.

Every review I have read so far never once mentioned the aiming being bad. The meat of the game is the characters and the exploration of the wasteland

Polygon is an MS sponsored Doritos site. I knew they were going to give it a lower score then others.

I heard Official Xbox magazine gave it 9.5/10. Xbox don't even get the game...kind of invalidates GameSpot's 8/10 and polygon 7.5/10 to me if so.

Where did anyone say they wanted a M4 in the game with a scope? I know that you don't care for shooting in games, but the controls were a real concern. Not enough to make me not get the game, as I am getting it day one. I really think you may have some issues if you have to constantly bring up the same shit in every thread.

And here we go with the conspiracy talk. There are now three reviews up that I read that talked about the controls, so while it may not be an issue for everyone, more than one person is talking about it. In the end, I doubt it makes the game bad, hell I didn't like the controls for Uncharted but won't take anything away from those games as some of the best of this generation. Just wanted to voice my concerns, even if it meant I would whip some people into a frenzy.

Conspiracy? You know that MS gave Polygon $750,000, right?

Anyways this game, like most of Naughty Dogs' other games, is going to be story driven so if the combat is average it shouldn't detract from the overall experience.

I really didn't like the story from Uncharted. I sure hope this game has a much better one. I hope mercenaries don't magically show up everywhere I explore like Uncharted. Oh and Nazi submarines!

Gave for what? Paid for promotional advertising? That's how the Internet works. Paid for special reviews? Show me the proof.

This game is cleaning up the reviews, wow.

Just might pick up a PS3 for this, last one broke over a year ago and I've been blah about it. This game looks bad ass.
