This can be said of every genre. But while I wouldn't exactly call zombie a genre, as subject matter it can still go new places provided it has the talent and inspiration behind it, which I think shouldn't be a problem for ND.

So long as it isn't a 4 player coop game, that is. Nothing can save that tired crap.

We'll see. I'm just so very tired of the zombie stuff now. But maybe they aren't zombies at all? I don't know, we'll see. I'd rather see something like Reavers from Firefly with people choosing to descend into chaos and anarchy. People that choose to exist at their most primal and becoming a monster of sorts are much more scary and compelling than people forced into zombies by some vaccine/virus/infection.
 
Definitely a wait and see for me. Though I enjoyed Dead Island, this looks to be a prettier 2 player co-op clone. I'll have to wait until I see some real reviews and game footage, especially because Naughty Dog isn't exactly known for a tight shooting mechanic in any of the 3 Uncharted entries, and a fast moving zombie game with bad mechanics is a recipe for frustration.
 
We don't know much about the game so who knows what's going to change from here to release, or how much this reveal really represents the game as a whole--but I'm still disappointed.

I was actually interested in the very very beginning, that is until I saw the (or one of the) protagonist fighting an undead. This industry is really good at beating a dead horse, and it's this reason I'm disappointed in naughty dog. They're a very talented studio and it feels like they're taking the easy route. It's like a checklist of video game tropes: An apocalypse, fast moving undead, rough-and-tumble protagonist partnered with vulnerability little girl. Yawn.

ND are better than this.

Have both Survival Edition and Post Pandemic Edition pre-ordered early this year.

One of my most anticipated games this year along with Ni No Kuni.

$100 to pre-order something that ends up being worth $300+ on eBay? Yes please.
 
ill probably just grab this from redbox since i'll probably beat it in like 3 sittings because i know i'm not going to want to put it down. the game looks to be incredible. i don't really know much other than that 1 playthrough video they showed a bunch. i've kind of been trying to steer clear of any news and gameplay.

Oh no another game where you shoot/avoid/stealth enemy zombies, Nazi's, Russians, terrorist, dragons, orcs, aliens etc.. Judging a game no fun by the amount of other games with that enemy must make your game list mighty short, not sure there has been a new enemy in.. geez not sure I have seen one in 10 years?

i try to judge by game play..

harsh and you have a right to your opinion.. And i Do understand Zombies are a bit overused right now. But a good game is a good game no matter if its zombies or Nazi's..

and that is in no way a "this is a good game" I disliked WoW on the 3DO, Crash was no big deal in my eyes.. but the Uncharted's where all good to me.. so .. some hope this is good too.
 
Does anyone else think the multiplayer looks really generic? Maybe I missed something, but it doesn't come off as the greatest ever like they were saying.
 
Well, based on the leaked reviews, I am going to wait. How many times have I heard iPhone killer about some crappy Android phone that lasts about 2 hours on a single charge? I just hope this comes out on the PS4 though, so I can get it there.

please don't take offence I don't mean this badly, what does this mean? I am often horrible at getting my point across, but this one baffles me.. love or hate apple or android?, Leaked reviews? why not just use the previews, they are all over. Might you point us to a leaked one? err. wait a quick google search point to a single "leaked" review that about 30 sites quote..

I think stuff like this true or not is just RAGE bait for those that have to hate what others like.. Hipsters, i think they call um.

i see a few "the demo was bad" but as it was still under NDA they didn't say much more.. but of the 3 that said the demo was bad ( that i could find).. all 3 have posted later stuff like this "I was wrong, the demo was just not very good. The game itself is great and has the best beginning I have ever played." and have recommended not to play the DEMO at all.

read into a few non official reviews what you will, I do agree with you on one thing for sure.. Wait and see, easy enough to rent (this gen 🙂 ) and make a decision.

I tend to be skeptical of reviews claiming x product is the best product ever and the next y product or the z product of the industry. Phones used to do this all the time. Reviewers would tout every new Android phone as an iPhone killer, and they always ended up lacking (at least from my opinion) and the iPhone outsold them anyway.

The game itself looks interesting enough, but I'd rather wait and see what this "Citizen Kane of gaming" really is. And for those that don't know, Citizen Kane is considered the best movie of all time; all aspects were so close to perfect (in reviewer's eyes at least). So, any comparison makes one think this game has to be perfect, and it very well may be, but I will wait for real people (not paid advertisers) to actually review it.
 
I would a preferred an end or the world/apocalypse theme w/o the zombies since everyone would be fighting each other for survival anyways. I kinda thought that was how the games was presented the first time I seen it in screenshots. Anyways I really hope they get the game play mechanics down right. Nothing was more frustrating then the gun fighting in Uncharted.

ok understand that.. I agree 100%.. I to think you should just stick with "great game" that "Citizen Kane of gaming" even brings a little rage to me. I must admit i cant count the games that have just a wee bit to much HYPE and love after a few hours of playtime.

I am still hoping its a UNCHARTED like game.. not in game play, but in how much I enjoy it.. But ND has done good, bad, and OK in my eyes.. only actual play will decided it for me..
