We had a LCD projector with a remote which could function as a mouse. But you needed a special cable (weird DB15 to PS/2 thing available only from Hitachi) and I bought one for $29. Then I realized my laptop had no PS/2 ports, only USB. So I bought a USB to PS/2 adapter for $12. And when I was hooking it up today to test it, another guy asked why I didn't just use a USB cable and be done with it.

I never noticed the projector had a USB port which would let me do what I wanted!
