Anyone else watch this movie? I just watched it and was blown away how accurately it captures the 1/4 life crisis in it.

Its not often that a movie really gets to me, but man I related to so much in it. What about you guys? Its definately worth a watch. Its a drama, but with enough T&A that your buds wont flame you for watching it.

Did you know it's a remake? Try renting the original one and see how it compares. I find it quite interesting to see how foreign movies are 'Americanized' for the remakes.

i watched it the other week. the dynamics of ALL the relationships depicted (Jenna's parents, Jenna & Michael, Michael & Kim, etc etc) were very realistic. overall, a good movie. and just like the OP said...guys: it's not truly a chick flick--there are a few scenes in there that will capture your interest. ;)

Italian I believe.

While I have nothing against foreign films, its still this movie that has piqued myinterest, although i wouldn't mind looking at it at another point in time.

Yeah, it was written and directed by the guy who later shot The Pursuit of Happiness.

i s'pose i have a different take than u. granted, Michael admitted he had a GF at the wedding, but he was the one who went to her campus....he was the one who asked his friend to "cover" for him so he could go out with her...he's the one who went back to get it on with her.

****SPOILER****
They're both to blame. She made it painfully obvious she wanted him, and he gave in.
****/SPOILER****

But the part i sympathize with most is being with that perfect one who you know most guys would kill to be with and still feeling trapped simply b/c you know that you'll never get that amazing excitement of a new relationship... even if you know the old comfy shoe you have currently is the one that will always fit you best.

Thought the movie was subpar at best. The show Friends shows "real life" better than this so-called "situation". I love Zach's work but thought this could have been done better than it was.

Pretty bad, and I say this despite brimming with pride over the fact that it was set in madison (though only filmed outdoor locations for a day or two) and despite the fact that my friend was a stand-in for harold ramis during filming. All the characters were unlikeable and unbelievable. So far Zach Braff is 0 for 2 in his film career as far as I am concerned, though Garden State was noticeably better (still bad).

I thought the movie was fine except for the ending:

*** WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD ***

I thought it was pretty lame that she took him back in the end after what he did. It seems most directors just can't make a movie without a happy ending.

Yeah I know we don't actually *know* that she took him back, but I think it was implied by the ending. She started out ignoring him, then gradually she started acknowledging that he was there, then she started leaving him food, and finally she let him back in. I guess you could argue that maybe she ended up not taking him back, but that's how I interpreted it. What do you think?

*** END SPOILERS ***

I've seen it a couple times... pretty good movie. Like someone else said, I thought the relationships were well done and the characters were pretty good too.

I agree with your interpretation Special K and that is one of the major reasons why I did not like the movie. It did not go far enough either way towards likeable characters or delightfully evil characters. If it had been closer to Closer I might have enjoyed it more. Felt like there were too many punches pulled, but still enough punches to warrant a domestic abuse charge in court.

I bought the DVD and really wanted to like it, but I thought it was ok. I like Zach Braff and Bilson is HOT, but the storyline was just meh.

yea, I really liked that movie. My gf didnt care for it too much; I think it's a movie that young men can get wrapped up in.

Do you guys in your late 20's or early 30's relate to it and kinda have that floating in the back of your mind the whole time? I'll be 27 next month and it seems like more and more every year it feels like i'm slipping away from freedom/carefree life and in to the stereotypical life of monotonous responsibility...

You're not alone there.
