The lack of good judgment that is used today

I have a few things I'd like to say. I never post in off topic and this will probably be my only post here but since this is a forum where people seem to show their opinions. I thought I'd throw mine out there.

My first example of bad judgment used today is the purchase of some SUV's. Mainly a Hummer H2 (There are a few others but I will use this as an example). The purchase of a Hummer H2 is purely for show. Not one Contractor, Maintenance Personnel, or Government Branch in their right mind would purchase a Hummer H2. The durability of the H2 compared to say a suburban or Explorer is extremely poor. And you can't imagine how many hummers I've seen with 24 inch rims on them. That right there tells me you have NO intentions of using this for what it?s meant to be used for. SUV (sport UTILITY Vehicle)

My other main issue is the lack of Judgment in executive decisions that affect many people's lives. Was there any legitimate reason for Israel to attack Hezbollah after their two soldiers were killed? NO. The lack of judgment (among other things) caused them to jump to the guns. Instead of investigating the situation as anyone with common sense would have done. I?m not taking sides on this situation (to be honest I believe guns are the main reason of this war and people with poor judgment should have their weapons taken away) I know this is a form of policing the world. And I feel that in our current political situation we should not be the ones to do it.

I?d like you to think of a world where we don?t need guns to solve problems, a world where people use their brains to resolve issues. That world can be now, if people start to use that thing in their head.

Flame me, agree with me, I don?t really care. Just felt I?d give my opinion.

Purchasing a large SUV is a luxury. No more or less than the other thousands of other things we could choose to spend or waste our money on.

And how did we get to this level of luxury? By having the best guns, to take over the best land, so we can farm the sh*t out of it in safety, and eventually gather up the tech to create such things as SUVs.

And then we come to rely on them, can't imagine a world without them, and next thing you know, you've got people as yourself that chastise others for luxury and killing others to take their sh*t, the very things that our entire society is built upon and which gives you the freedom to come on the internet and bitch about it.

as much as you would like to think that made sense, it really doesnt. especially at the end...what a crock of sh!t

How do you plan on taking the guns away from those with poor judgement? You need to take off your rose colored glasses and look at the way the world is and how it works. It's easy for people to preach when they don't have rockets flying at em and they don't have to worry about getting their head chopped off.

wow.. those are the 2 most random examples....

People can do whatever they want with the money they've earned. They can sell their houses and live in that Hummer H2 if they want do - what's your problem with it?

lol, "investigate" if there's a legitimate reason for Israel to attack Hezbollah after their two soldiers were killed. "Hey, um, Hezbollah? We weren't sure...are you guys really serious about the whole wiping out Israel thing? Oh, you are? Thanks, sorry, we needed to clarify it for our investigation."

I'll only respond to your first rant, regarding the H2's.
People who can afford to buy and operate them, could care less what you, or anyone else thinks. They are buying them to satisfy themselves.

well I had previously decided not to reply but i guess i will back up my opinion

for the H2's yes luxury items can be purchased but luxury at the expense of the rest of the population due to over consumption why does the us use more gas than it produces? Because people make bad decisions about their use for an automobile that gets 3 miles to the gallon for "show" luxury is completely ok with me but H2's are a form of excess.

With Hezbollah I am simply offering a solution 1 which will almost defiantly not happen if people continue to complain about the situation rather than offering solutions.

(to be honest I believe guns are the main reason of this war and people with poor judgment should have their weapons taken away)

woa there! They've been at this since sticks and stones, and they still would if that's all they had. Guns are not the main reason, it's religious fanatisizm.

I never considered an H2 to be a luxury vehicle... I've always considered it to be a luxury vehicle status symbol for really pompous people.
Jaguar says "hey, I'm loaded and I have a cool sports car."
H2 says "Hey, I can afford this and I'm an idiot"

Furthermore, very few people use SUV's for what they're capable of. You want idiots - how about every person south of the Mason Dixon line that has a vehicle with 4WD (but never ever takes it off road)

lol, nothing like blanket criticism without any substance to back it up. I could just as easily told the OP he had his head in the clouds, but I'd rather articulate why.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you that H2 are extremely wasteful...but so is just about everything else. TVs aren't NEEDED, a book can provide entertainment as well. By the standard of using energy that you don't NEED, watching tv is wasteful too. I'm not justifying gas guzzlers, in fact I'm well aware that it's a problem that we need to deal with, but its an environmental issue, not a market/price issue or an issue of being a douche.

Your analysis of the hezbollah situation is shortsighted. Who is right or wrong, and what is or isn't justified, is determined by PEOPLE, not some abstract eternal law. As far as each side is concerned, they are right, and the other is wrong. The two soldiers are just a symptom of the problem. Hezbollah wants israel gone, israel wants hezbollah gone, and no amount of us telling them to play nice is going to change their feelings about that.

Legitimacy is in the eyes of the beholder. We don't feel its legitimate, because their war can only affect us adversely.

@ BD2003

I never analyzed whether they were wrong or not. I am simply stating that a lack of judgment in the situation and also a lack of judgment in how to deal with other people contributed to the situation. So I offered a resolution. It probably isn?t the best solution but a group of people that can?t make educated decisions that affect the people of their country should have their power removed that goes for some people who represent the United states as well.
