So.. this thing is like a decade old. I got it for $6. It's basically a black, old case (unpainted inside) with an exterior 240mm closed loop koolance, never been used. What's it worth, how well would it perform?

I'm guessing performance has got to be around an h80, maybe an h100 with apples to apples testing, same fans, etc? This thing is in really good condition, it's unused. Still have the original bottles of fluid and stuff.

All the reviews I've seen compare it to like.. the exos, I mean I have no idea how this thing performs relative to modern stuff.

Thanks.

dont... it uses the old koolance V1 when they weren't the best reputable company.

Koolance underwent a entire revamp on EVERYTHING they had in 2008-9. Even down to there radiators.
Your case predates that revamp.

so... how does it perform? Whats the value? I mean its going to be better than a hyper 212 obviously, if not even an h60, so thats gotta put it at least at $40?

belial if u have no experience LCing... which im guessing u dont cuz ur asking about the koolance unit..

stay away from it.

Its one of those where if u have no idea on how it is... avoid it... cuz its gonna take a specialist to maintain it.

I have experience with LC, just not one this old.

I'm not asking to use this system, I"m not asking about how 2 set up???. I'm asking a very basic:

1. How much is it worth? How much could it be worth (ie parting it, etc)?
2. How well does it perform compared to anything modern?

I know how to maintain a LC. I know the pump is going to be less reliable, that there is some goofy issues with the parts used and having to avoid certain metals if you swap any of it's parts out because of the metals used in the rest of it, but I am not asking about that, I am not even asking about using this.

I could write out a whole page about why and what I plan to do with this thing, but rather than do that... just 2 basic questions.

1. How much is this thing worth (ebay, craigslist, etc)?
2. How does it perform?

If you want to give supplemental information about how good or bad the unit might be aside from performance, I'm all ears, but that's really not my primary concern. Again, I could go into a huge essay about how I'm actually not going to use this unit, how it's not even mine, how it's a friend's and I'm inquiring on their behalf on something that they have no received yet, only as part of a trade of multiple items....

Or just 2, basic questions.

Thanks for your input so far, I just would really like to know:

1. $$$$ value
2. Performance.

If you are crazy enough to try it, make sure you leak test it for a long bit of time.

The only thing worse than old seals is old dry seals, ask any classic car guy.

Edit: to answer your direct question, it's worthless. No one would trust a loop that old. It would cost more to retrofit the gear in that case than to build a new loop in a modern case.

1. how much is it worth?
Its worth as much as a headache... seriously... if u could sell it to someone who didnt know, it would be like u transfering a headache onto someone else.
You could probably sell the LC unit itself for like 50... at most... but thats still getting lucky.

2. how does it perform? it does a fairly good job at the noise it produces.
however its a mix metal system... meaning ur mixing copper + alu which means heavy ehtyl or ur gonna run into corrosion.
This is why i said u needed to be a near expert to service it.. if u get your mixture wrong, you will run into corrosion.

it will probably keep up with most AIO's with about 5x the worry that something will go wrong and your system will die a horrible mess.

I would not be able to sleep at night if i had a system running this LC... if that makes it any easier for you.
