The Kingdom, Anyone else see this film?

i'm watching it on DVD right now and it's EXCELLENT. a lot better than i expected.

amazing it only did 47 mill at the box office.

It's alright.

Although, when I started watching the movie, I knew exactly that the same guy who directed friday night lights, directed the kingdom. Why? Because he pretty much recycles the exact same music and puts into the kingdom.

Back on topic, I thought it was decent. Could've been better to be honest. I remember reading the reviews initially that the last 20 minutes or so was supposed to be really intense. All I could remember thinking was, "That's it?"

i thought it was pretty cool. i watched it twice, once by myself and once with a friend. enjoyed it both times.

47 mill tho is pretty bad. i've seen much worse films gross more money.

They'll make a nice chunk of change overseas and with DVD rentals though.

It was a decent movie. Wife and I enjoyed it.

it wasn't blackhawk down intense, but it was good.

I have never seen the movie, but I think it's box-office problem was two-fold:

1. From the trailers, one could not really tell what the movie was about (I think it is about U.S. cops go to Iraq to find a bomber?);

2. From the trailers, there was no way to tell if Jennifer Garner got naked in the movie.

Those are not the reasons I have not seen it, but, just my take on the American public's view of things.

It was pretty good ... my wife and I both enjoyed it, and will probably rent it at some point in the future.

Were you actually posting in the middle of the movie? Why?

why not? my pc is right here next to my tv.

about half way thru the movie it occurred to me, this is a pretty damn good movie, so i posted.

I've been patiently waiting for netflix to send me the HD-DVD version. I've had it in my queue since the day it was released.
Guess I'll just change it to the regular version at this point so I can actually get the movie shipped to me.

I have a feeling that it's going to get easier to get HD-DVD versions....

I have the HD-DVD version sitting at home.....I'll try and watch it tonight, maybe you'll get it next 🙂

I just kept laughing... the idea that FBI can go anywhere near a crime scene in Saudi Arabia is just too much.

Yeah it was totally different than what I thought it would be....

On another note, did you know one of the cameramen died while they were filming the highway fight scene?

The trailers on apple.com and in the UK cinema were pretty clear 😕
