The Killer Angels

I heard about this book from a friend who teaches history and was having his class read it, he gave me a copy to read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I usually read military related genre, but not of the Civil War.

Link for those who have not heard of it (You can also read about the first 30 pages, but it gets so much better from there).

I knew some about Gettysburg (from what I remembered a long time ago from my high school history classes), but this added so much more. It was an easy read, but it was one of the best historical novels I have ever read. It really leaves you with a feeling of appreciation and a very good understanding of the times.

I highly recomend you read this book, you will not regret it on so many levels, not to mention you can probably get it very cheap in paperback.

Has anyone read it before? I would definately put it up there with Black Hawk Down (my favorite book ever).

I am not one to usually read about WW2 or the Civil War, I usually stick to modern stuff, but this book was awesome regardless.
