Spilled about 13 ounces of water(bong water to be exact) on my new ms elite kb and its tweaking out on me.
Ive let it dry overnight already and its still not working properly!

Hi, Overnight probably will not dry out the keyboard. Put it in a warm place, not hot, and wait a few days. If the water was fairly clean it may come back to life. Good Luck, Jim

Please do not RMA that keyboard. It's just high. Give it a little time to sleep it off.

;)

Seriously, I wouldn't send anything that had bong water spilled on it through the mail or any other shipping system. They do use drug-sniffing doggies in the warehouses occasionally. Sending a traceable package with evidence of drug use in it is probably not a wise thing to do -- even though the odds of it getting detected are probably very, very low.

Light it up!

If it is broke, buy a new one and learn not to get baked out of your mind next to your KB next time.

isopropyl alcohol can be used to drive water out of electronics and clean boards.

Now this is a first. I wouldn't send it back. the first thing I would have done was turn it over to let most of the water back out , and sit it in front of a fan for a while. The longer you let it dry out the better. It should come back. If not......well.....burn one in it's memory.

I would stop using due to the smell...:disgust:

I always find myself yelling at my friends for the same thing - "Get the bong away from my computer!"

ok well half the keyboard is working, since its a natural kb and is split into two, so the left side is working but the enter key backspace and about 16 other keys still arent working.
Belive me this kb has smell and seen worst in the 2 months i had it

just buy a replacement keyboard for 10 bucks and give it over to Microsoft, it must be a more expensive keyboard I suspect. I don't see a loss in this unless you have better things to do with your time.

the membrane contact will never dry. It's 3 pieces of plastic placed just far enough apart to trap any spilled water. your continuous use has probably caused the conductive ink used to create the contacts to burn off due oxidation or shorting.

what can you do?

open the keyboard up, separate the membranes and allow them to dry. use some gloves while you are doing this. your finger oils are not good for the conductive ink. wipe with rubbing alcohol swabs if needed. if you see black crap, you need to go to radioshack and buy a conductive ink pen to repaire the damage to the conductive ink traces, if needed.

nicely said Mday, that is what i have always done in the past, minus the repair...

i have a first gen logetic wireless elite combo, its been through the dishwasher (no heat) about 3 times, once for each year of operation... (membrane and electronics taken out) ,,, my next experiment would be using a mesh bag (pencil case) and throwing it in with my laundry
