The keurig is amazing

Not to derail the thread but I've had Keurig coffee and I wasn't that impressed other than it brews real quick. Couldn't really tell a difference from regular coffee.

Now my wife just got a French coffee press for her birthday and I tried it out this morning and that was an effing good cup of coffee. I'm not coffee snob by any means but I see where they're coming from now. It was more work than putting grinds in the basket and punching the button though. During the week I'll just use the mr coffee I think.

I love my Keurig. I generally only want a one cup of coffee when I'm at home and I don't want to wait for it to brew. My Keurig preheats before I wake up and I can make my cup of coffee in 30 seconds in the morning.
 
I only drink one cup of coffee a day, so for me the keurig is great. Sure, I could brew I small pot of coffee and it would probably be cheaper, but then I'd just end up pouring out half the pot.
 
I know those San Francisco Bay Coffee Fog Chaser K-cups are very popular, but I couldn't stand the flavor.

They go stale *FAST*. I'm not a high volume coffee drinker. Maybe 3 cups a week in the morning. So it takes me close to a month to get through one of the 12 packs. The first week or two are good. Then they start going south in a hurry.

This is Kcups, right? How do they get stale? They're in sealed containers.

Not these. They are much more minalisitic than traditional k-cups, which I can appreciate. It's basically a plastic ring, foil seal, and a filter packed full of coffee. No plastic cup.

Ah, gotcha. Maybe try putting the unused ones in a ZipLoc bag, or an old coffee can.
 
Back when you could snag a k cup for 32 cents a piece it wasn't bad. Now cheap is the low 40s with 50 to 60 being the norm its just crazy. I don't purchase anymore, its to expensive. I just get regular coffee from work.

I cannot fathom how you could feel this way. No kidding. The cup amount is variable as well..

Is it the best coffee? No. Does it taste identical to drip? No.

But it does brew a very good cup of coffee. It might be a little bit more expensive, but it is so much faster and easier.

I get the impression that a lot of the negative reactions are from people who have tasted one or two cups and not really given the machine a chance.

This is what we use at home most of the time. You do have to clean the filter with vinegar once in a while because they clog up.

On pay day we buy a box of Kcups and it's our treat for a few days.

We love our Keurig machine.
 
They have an expensive Keurig machine at work and for some reason I never really like the coffee until I chose a smaller cup instead of the biggest one.

Delicious coffee now.
 
We have one at work and it's convenient. The whole idea is that unlike a conventional coffee machine you don't have to make an entire pot of one specific kind, and you don't have to clean the whole thing after each use. They are more expensive to operate of course though but some people are willing to pay that premium for convenience.

I also like trying out various kcups. I'm not a big coffee person but certain types of coffee are growing on me. I particular like the super strong stuff like Jet Fuel. I find the less strong coffee taste too watery and not enough flavour. I'm normally into the sugary/sweet drinks though but nothing like a really strong coffee on those early mornings.

I have been resistant to descaling because it is a new (to me) keurig, but I just realized my brother in law who gave it to me, probably never cleaned the damn thing once...
 
That's one thing I miss from my previous place of work, a window. No windows at all in this building, unless the security camera screen counts as a window. 😛

high security building, so it's by design.

ha, i lucked out. love my company. that pond has an island out in the middle. there's a small sand bar that you can walk in knee-deep water. we keep fishing poles in our cubicles😎 friday around 4pm i took my shoes off and walked out to the island to try to rip a few lips before i left work. didn't catch anything but maybe next time. i'll take the small things like that with the shitty "texas view". they knocked the dead tree in the picture down so it's slowly coming together..
