The Joy of Panaflos

Well I just replaced my jet-turbine Delta 60mm fan with an 80mm Panaflo M1A, and 4 80mm Sunons w/2 L1A's. This thing is so quiet now it sounds like my old Dell P2 400, and only a few degrees hotter. Definitely worth it after 2 weeks of incessant fan noise. Props to pcmods.com for delivering as promised.

Hey John 🙂

PipBoy, it's good to hear that kind of story. I ordered a few L1A's (FINALLY) and they should be here in a few days. I can't WAIT to put one in my power supply and one in the front to suck (in a good way). I'm tempted to put one on my CPU as well, but right now I'm using a Panaflo that's rated at 24v, so it's nice a quiet runnign at 12 😀

My next step is to order some Seagate Baracuda drives... this Maxtor I have makes my ears ring.

Hey Packy, I'm using 24v Panaflos also. The surplus store near me sells the 12v fans for $5 each, but the 24v models only get $3. I asked the owner why the big difference in price and he said the 12v always sell faster. He's usually got Panaflos, Deltas, Sunons and I've even seen a few Pabsts before. On my last trip I walked out with three 120mm 24v Panaflos, two of the thin type 80mm 12v Panaflos, two 120mm wire grills and three of the chrome 80mm wire grills for $21.50!

Here's a pic.

Where is a good place online to pick up some tailed Panaflos for a reasonable price? The only places I have seen sell them for a lot.

Your best bet would be picking some up at bgmicro.com then buying the tails somewhere else (pcmods.com sells em)

Nice Passat aphexII, how fast to 0-60mph?

PcMods.Com has a good selection of Panaflo fans, actually they sell some lighted fans now. Pretty cools for those with window kits though a little expensive at $49 bills.

Bump...

Anybody know where I can get the Panaflo H1A's for a resonable price? Less than PCMods.com price of $11 per fan?

Thanks in advance.

Fatbaby, you are my "Hero for the Day!" 😉 Thank you!

You gottal love the net. It just makes your world that much bigger.

really bothers me how much these places RAPE end users on buying fans..

i picked up 10 80mm L1a's from bgmicro when they had a sale.. $2 each.. and they're still making a profit.. can you imagine how much these bastards charging $10 a fan are making? bah.

10 from bgmicro cost $2.75 now =|, and they aren't tailed, you can easily buy a tail for $.50 and tail it yourself, or you can buy a tailed panaflo for around $5 if you are lazy...

I think those places need to make a profit =|, case-modding is probably a 10 million dollar (BS figures) industry at most

Does anyone know where to buy Panaflos in the UK? , Overclockers, Overclock and Aria don`t have them, the one I have I was given ages ago, I`d like 3 more

Thanks

Agould24, Tweakbox.com has them for $17.50. I was at Bigfoot the other day as well, they said they were switching suppliers, so the cost of Panaflos may go down. Incidentally, they are currently out of stock.

I have a Lian Li PC65. I replaced all of the stock fans with L1As (2 front intake, 1 exhauast). I also added 2 more L1As. One over the CPU and the other over the Video Card. My case is much quieter and the temps didn't change.

My Case

Well I just received the pair that I ordered in the mail today. I noticed that only two wires -- one red and one black -- are connected to the molex. The other two are empty.

Are these two the only ones necessary?
