No, really.

I'm curious if anyone has any recommendations for some good economics reading. 'Bout halfway through Wealth of Nations right now, finished Capitalism and Freedom (Friedman) couple days ago... I have Money Mischief (also by Friedman) that I'll hopefully finish before the end of next week (last week in SoCal). Thinking about getting a copy of The Communist Manifesto, but that's also something I'm going to space out.

Any ideas or suggestions?

EDIT: the irony of replacing "Communist" with "Community" was too much for me to bear.

The Communist Manifesto doesn't have much to do with economcs, but try Das Kapital (in original, if possible :)) You'll be amazed at all the long words Marx could think up :)

CM, at least as I understand it, is more from a social welfare point of view. I tend to be very, very liberal when it comes to economics (liberal in the sense that Freidman uses); I thought it would be interesting to see Marx's view on society, government, and how they interrelate.

I've read both (finished Das Kapital with big effort, though). The CM is more like a political platform. Das Kapital, on the other hand, is a very serious, well written and well research book, with not that much ideology. For me it was hard to read because it requires constant attention, has a lot of footnotes (some of them as big as term papers :)) and basically, economics is not something I'm that much interested in. Give me number theory and complex analysis :)

Mmm... I just bought Das Kapital... I suppose I'll buy Communist Manifesto later on.

Hopefully this gets bumped by someone for the morning crowd. ;)

I've been meaning to do some reading of von Mises, but I don't have the time or the money for it just yet. :)

I can't believe nobody's commented on my suggestion yet, which must be one of the greatest current book on Economics on the market right now! Eat The Rich!

Looks like an interesting book. I'll check it out after I finish Adam Smith, ;).
