The Joshua Tree really is a good album.

I just had an uplifting conversation with someone I've never actually met, but she was able to make me feel better than I have lately. Now I'm listening to this CD. Good conclusion to an otherwise lousy day :)

"Where the Streets Have No Name," "With or Without You," and "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" are some of my favorites.

Cool, I hope things continue to look up for you sir.

I must disagree with the album being good though, I got it a couple months ago after hearing so much about it and decided it wasn't my thang :p

I hated it when it came out. Too many pop songs.
Recording was subpar, imo.
But I listen it as often as my fav Boston "Third Stage." Like it now.

one of the enlightened few! U2 is probably the only band that takes itself seriously that I love. Pop is a good CD... just atypical.

The Joshua Tree holds a special place in my heart. Got married that year and my daughter was born that year. I lived, ate, and breathed that album back in '87 ;)

Their 2nd best, imo, is Boy.

I just bought another copy (my first one got a bit scratched up at the roller rink I used to DJ at, those CD players could kill a new CD in one session). Sam's Club Membership Warehouse finally got The Joshua Tree for under $10.00. A lot of online retailers still list it at $16.99 or more.

U2 is one of the bands that always seems to be well produced. When you say the recording was subpar, are you talking about the music or the "sound"?

Well, if he thinks Boston has a great sound, it's because the "sound" was produced after years of messing with the recordings in a studio. Boston live in concert would PALE in comparison. U2 live in concert is magic.
