We put up this job posting just a couple days ago, and have since gotten over 20 e-mails in response to it.

Basically we're looking for a college student with programming experience to work part time (15-20 hours a week) doing pretty basic entry level stuff like updating web pages. I've been working 40 hour weeks this past summer, and based on my post count you can see the amount of work I've been doing :p

What hasn't been expected are some of the responses we've gotten. . .

I am a Permanent Resident with
more than five years of rich experience in web
development
.

To mention a few of my strong accomplishments, I have
been solely responsible for the design, development
and maintenance of 'careers' section at CIOL and also
introducing the ASP technology with total revamp in
the site. It involved extensive UI development using
technologies like VBScript, JavaScript, SQL, COM, ADO,
RDBMS etc.

For several years (since 1996) I do develop web sites for small businesses, maintain and host them.
I do coding in HTML, java script, PHP and have experience with FLASH and ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 7.0.
I also have experience with 'OsCommerce Shopping Cart' as well as internet marketing tools.

In my professional career, I have been the manager of a large-scale
enterprise deployment, overseeing all aspects of programming and
server acquisition and setup. I have since then worked several years
as a computer consultant, via telecommute, in most popular internet
languages (including PHP, MySQL, Java, ASP, XML, Perl) for a variety
of companies.

For the past few years, I've worked as a
web/database developer, tech support engineer, and
computer technician. I've also done some network and
system administration on both Unix and Windows
platform.

I have over five years of web experience and have a good sense for
business and marketing. I have worked with Java, JSP, fluent in HTML,
familiar with CSS, a master in many graphic applications, familiar
with Windows servers and SQL.

I am a graduate student working towards Master's degree in Computer Science. I am seeking an entry level, and while researching opportunities in the field of java development, I found your posting on Monster. I am writing to inquire about possible opportunities with your company.
My work background and coursework have supplied me with many skills and an understanding of dealing with the Design, Code and create GUI-based web application.

Yeesh, we're just looking for someone to nef all day and do work on occassion.

If anyone wants to see the job listing, PM me if you're located in the East Bay Area :)

Job market for computer science grads here is great, don't think I know anyone (with a good command of the English language) who hasn't found gainful employment. Took only three weeks personally.
