I had the opportunity to visit Singer Productions last week here in the city and checked out Scott Singer's audio production studio. Scott was one of the finalists for composing the theme song for the latest James Bond movie, Casino Royale. I listened to the track in Scott's studio and thought it was awesome and sounds like a genuine James Bond theme song. This track reminded me of Tina Turner singing the theme song to Golden Eye. Unfortunately, Sony Pictures didn't pick up Scott's track, but instead picked the track, "You Know My Name," composed by Chris Cornell of Audioslave, formerly of Soundgarden fame.
Scott asked me to spread the word around and expose his track to all the James Bond fans and let them decide on whether Sony made the right decision or totally f'ed up on the pick. You can listen to Scott's track, Casino Royale on his myspace page.
You can read more about Scott at Singer Productions. Scott is a San Francisco State University grad and winner of multiple Grammy's.
Update: Scott just sent me a new mix of this track. The drum machine was replaced by a live drummer. The link is for the 192 kbps MP3 version for anyone who's interested. At this point, we all know Sony's not gonna change anything, I just want people to give it a listen to this cleaner version and post their thoughts comparing Chris Cornell's track and Scott Singer's track. Thanks
