When it first came out, was it taken seriously or not? Why can't some one say that and be serious? it's like, maybe they are serious that it's really them and not the other person, kind of like you feel guilty about being w/someone because you're a disgusting, vile, putrid collection of horse vomit and they're a sweet, angel.... So yea, if you know you don't deserve some one and you give them that line, why can't they take that line literally? bleh

I think the thing is, if they really cared, they would spend the time to come up with something better.

Relationships have to be two way. No matter how the other person says it, if they do not like you, stop seeing them as soon as you can.

Thank them for letting you how they feel because they have saved you a lot of time.

If you're breaking off a serious relationship with someone, you owe them more than 5 words. Even if that line is serious, you need to elaborate.

"I have a real lack of confidence that i'll be able to treat you right, and just don't feel like I can handle you or a relationship in a mature manner right now. I don't have any problems or issues with you, and I really wish we could have met at a different point in my life."

See how easy that is?

"You're giving me the 'It's not you, It's me' routine? I invented 'It's not you, it's me'. Nobody tells me it's them not me, If it's anybody, It's me!"

There's no such thing as "you're too good for me." If that person is in fact too good for you, you should just be thankful to be with that person.

If they cared, they wouldn't be giving you a dear-john speech.

That line can most definatly be true. It is very possible that something has changed in the person saying that line.

The episode of Nip/Tuck where Christian breaks up with the blind chick?

Can you really live with yourself knowing that the other person deserves so much better?
