Some 3 months ago, the existing Israeli government headed by Netanyuhu looked like it was on its last legs and was facing new elections. The basic way of the world in any Parliamentary government system. As the existing Netanyuhu government was too dependent on its alliances with settler parties that viewed Netanyuhu of lacked enough Israeli settler party zeal.
Just as it looked bleak for Netanyuhu avoiding new elections three months ago some how Netanyuhu and the leader of the Israeli Kadima party formed a new alliance that made Netanyuhu less dependent on just Israeli settlers parties thus making the Netanyuhu ruling coalition in the Israeli Knesset even stronger.
But today, all but three of the Kadima members in the Israeli Knesset voted to take their party out of the Netanyuhu coalition. The root issue had little to do with any external Palestinian State issues and instead involved the so called Tal law that exempted ultra orthodox Jews for being subject the universal Israeli male and female military draft/compulsory national service.

And when Kadima only joined the Netanyuhu coalition on the implied promise that the free ride for ultra Orthodox would end, Netanyuhu basically stalled and stalled. Leading to Kadima finally getting disgusted and with drawing.
My guess is this will not lead to any immediate fall of the Israeli Netanyuhu coalition, but its gives a glimpse of Netanyuhu style of avoiding offending anyone.
As we might be remember the American equivalent, "when you try too hard to take the middle of the road position, there is nothing but yellow lines and dead armadillo's to be found."
