What do you guys think? IMO, It's nothing compare to the orignal one.

The word, "gay" means happy. In contemporary usage, it also refers to homosexuality. It is NOT a generalized negative adjective. Such usage only promotes homophobic stereotypes and bigotry.

We have many good, contributing members who happen to be gay. Who they are is not your business, but you may not continue to post such verbal abuse on our forums. Doing so again may be reason to suspend your posting privileges.

I watched it for the first time last night..

I agree with you 100%. I LOVED the original.. I couldnt get enough. But the new one just sucks.

They tried this once before though with William Shatner as the host. Sucked then and sucks now. The original is and will always be the best.
 
I like Alton's commentary better but it's pretty obvious who's going to win. Americans just can't handle real Japanese food.

The show is fixed so that the Iron Chefs would win most of the time. Just like in Japan.

They have to let Flay, Mario, and Puck win so that they would look legitimite in the future.

The problem is they want to copy the orignal one but I just don't feel right. I don't know why. 😕

They met twice, Morimoto beat Flay first, than Flay beat Morimoto in 2002.

Flay beat Sakai last night
Mario beat Morimoto tonight.
 
I think 99% of the stuff they make looks gross. Screw upper-class gourmet food, gimme a hot dog with mac and cheese any day over that stuff.

Edit: I'm mostly referring to the original IC. Is the American version all (or mostly) american foods?

Yeah, at least Food TV's Iron Chef American is better than UPN's horrid "Iron Chef USA"! They just got it ALL wrong on remake of the show. That said, The new "Chairman" really sucks! He's so lame, I actually liked Shatner better! 🙂
 
After watching the joke of awarding Flay the winner over Sakai last night, I thought that it was hopefully just due to the fact that it was the first night, and American.. rah rah rah.. stuff.

Tonight disgusted me.

Morimoto was a genius. Absolutely incredible. Batalia took done to death dishes and changed the main ingredient. I thought I would choke when he said he 'created' the ossco buco lobster dish. He did not 'create' anything. Batali is nothing compared to Morimoto, we all know that. He's talented, but nowhere near as creative or as good as accentuating the theme ingredient as Morimoto. The facts are as simple as that, but Mr. all-american Batali won because of the culinary blindness of the judges. This show is beyond hope now. I hope they never make it into a series. These chefs have no creativity, no right to be Iron Chefs or win against an Iron Chef. I suppose the Batali fans will be out in force to flame me for this, but I don't care. This show is so close to rigged it's sickening.

Morimoto was clearly a winner. As Sakai was last night. No doubt they will give it to Puck tomorrow night. I mean can anyone imagine his ego losing.

The judges need to be a higher standard then a wannabe chef and has been actors. Good Lord, the Japanese will never want to come back and be instulted like this again. The judges are horrible, and the commentary is stiff and non-illuminating.

They picked the most annoying chefs from Food Network to be Iron Chefs, Flay especially...what a prick

I actually find hot dogs and mac and cheese really gross.

I think it's that the Japanese announcers are way more interesting in describing the action. The Japanese definitly have a unique way of seeing things.

Besides I just watched 12 minutes of it. I say it sucks. The SONY replay the the KRAFT matchup. The enthusiam isn't there.

EDIT: They just called a deep fryer a fry-o-later.

EDIT2: Gay, Flay won. I don't think a lot of his foods would be too great.
 
Is Iron Chef Chinese Chen Kenichi there for the battle? He can easliy beat the hell out of the Amercian chefs

Chen is good, I don't think he is included in the current lineup, unfortunately.

Sakai losing to Flay... didn't see the cook-off but it just doesn't seem right.
 
I also like the original much better

the american chefs are just too snobby! also they lack the "flair" and technique that the jp chefs have! I bet bobby flay cannot slice a cucumber like sakai can!
 
The judges were just horrible.
There's this woman, she was like eeww wasabi.
morimoto's dishes were very organized and creative.
Mario is a good chef, but his dishes are so freaking boring.
They should put Ming Tsai and that anorexic woman in as iron chefs.
Down with Flay, he is just a douchebag.
