The Invisible Hard Drives

All right, so I got a Lite On DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive. I installed it on the same IDE cable as my Master HD. I've got two other HDs, both on the same cable, but now when I reboot they don't show up. In the BIOS it just says "not installed" under those IDE slots. I switched out the cable itself - no dice. Is this a BIOS issue? Compatibility? I don't see why this would be a problem - all I did was switch out the old CD-RW cold, and reboot. HELP ME.

yea sounds like a jumper issue

set everything to cable select, also check and make sure you have power going to all the HDDs as well

I know the jumpers on the two HDs that aren't working are set on cable select, the Master on the other cable is set to master I think though. I'll check - and yes power is to all drives.

I may be wrong, but it shouldnt matter if the drives are set to master or slave, but cable select can bruing up some problems. try setting the jumpers to other combinations
