The Interview Questions (and answers?) thread.

So in order to help people interviewing, I figure it would be a good idea to post some interview questions and good answers to them. Please help out if you ran into some that you think would be good to list.

Here's a couple of common ones for Help Desk:

1. Someone calls you and says: Something's wrong with my printer, I can't print. What would you ask them to get an idea of their situation?

- some answers: Is the printer connected and turned on? Were you able to print to it before or is this the first time you tried to print to it from that computer? What are you trying to print?

2. You're trying to fix a computer problem and the user's just screaming his head off at you. Maybe putting you down and demanding that you hurry up and fix it. What's the best course of action?

If you don't sit the fvck down immediately you're going to acquire a few more problems that I can't fix.

and interview question that is always asked is

"So tell me about your self?"
which you just basicly tell them what is on your resume!

"Why should I pick you over other canadates?"
Cause the other canadates are Dbags <--- JK
because I have this and this!!! pick two things off your resume and couple them together like your the best!

"What is your greatest weakness?"

Popular and difficult question. Most people recommend going with something that you can spin off to be positive, like "I work too hard," but I think that interviewers can pick out superfical bs like that. Instead, I just tell them a real weakness of mine, but always add that I recognize the weakness and am working hard on improving it. It's best that you have examples of how you are working on it too, especially if it's on your resume.

What would you do if I made it so you couldn't do your job? (AKA what would you do if I made your life hell?)

I was asked that by a Washington Mutual recruiter - not in those words, of course. Answer? I wouldn't take the darn job in the first place! And I didn't. 😀

Yeah, I've heard that one a couple of times. Good point too.
