i understand that Africa has problems.

yes, there is a lot of human suffering there, but there is in India, Asia, South America, North America, Europe (and the middle east altho it isn't a continent).

why do we get so many movies about suffering in africa tho?
 
No one is forcing you to watch it.

Its not like there's a 'suffering of Africa' movie every week.
 
It's good.. the dumbass American public may finally pay attention to something if a bunch of Hollywood movies are made about it
