i'm taking a class in Dragon Naturally Speaking, and this actually qualifies me for an educational discount on some real good software.

i have seen articles along both lines - that Intel will be lowering prices in April (for example, the E6600 in the low $200's), and i think i saw one that said the timing is more like, real soon, the next few weeks.

anybody know ? it's only a $100 but it does pile up.

I would really like to know as well. From what I was reading on those articles they are also introduceing the 1333 FSB quad cores at the same time and they looked to be alot more reasonable for the price. Something like 500 for the baseline version with 1333 FSB. Any news would be great.

I have never seen anything earlier than Q2 which would be April at the earliest.

I am waiting for this as well, so if anyone has any different information, please post it.

Thanks,
KT

if I remember right (too lazy to search) the price cuts will hit sometime between late February and march. So we should expect to see prices coming down late April to may(second half of Q1, or Q2 right?). That is currently what I'm waiting for. E4300 at $113 is just way to good to pass up.
