Anyone buy one of these books? I'm interested in history and learning about my family history would be cool. For $30 I'm just wondering how much info you get? I guess it depends on your family history, but am I going to get like 10 pages or am I going to get a nice sized book with lots of info?

Holy hell, they have my name. That's surprising. I think I might order it just to see what they have since my name is pretty uncommon.

Edit:
Looking at the tags, I wouldn't expect much:
"a waste of good dollars"
"a total waste of money"
"disappointed"

But it's only $30

"these are fake books with fake research of no real value a total waste of money... all the information is about as valuable as opening the telephone book and making a list of all the Jones people in it"

Given that they have one of these books for every name, I would expect something that is automatically generated from records in their databases with minimal narrative

mine is uncommon too but it says they are custom made or somethign though. I don't think they are already pre-printed.

Each book in the collection is printed on demand and is compiled from hundreds of millions of records from the world's largest online resource of family history, Ancestry.com.

The price charged for this book is way too much for the actual family information provided which is sparse and obscure statistical data. I was disappointed and embarrassed because I bought several for christmas presents.

yep, seems like most of them are like that. many people are saying its pamphlet sized and has such generic info its worthless.
definitely not going to spend $30 on this.

The reviews seem to go either way. It may just be a matter of expectations. I sure as hell wouldn't buy more than one of these without seeing one first though.

They're listed as being in the range of 100 pages (I picked two, and they were 82 and 98 pages). I think I might buy one and report back. Too bad you can see it before you buy it.

Wow, surprised they had my name. :Q I'm not that interested though, we were probably just a bunch of drunks or something.

Ordered. Just in time to get it by the weekend so I can show my dad on Sunday. I'll post my thoughts and maybe some page scans.

Hmm, don't have my name, as expected. I guess my last name is just that uncommon. :)

Just canceled my order, thanks. I wasn't expecting much - I figured there'd be boilerplate text and some basic information, but I didn't expect the unique information in each book to be limited to NUMBERS. I figured there'd be some names of long-dead people, earliest immigrants, that sort of thing. I don't think this book will tell me anything I don't already know about my name.
