The insanity of amusement parks

Why do people pay $50 to get into an amusement park only to wait 3 hours in a line to go on a 3 minute ride? Then they get the wonderful priviledge of purchasing food, beverages and souvenirs at enormously inflated prices. Is there any sense to this madness?

I would go for the candy.

That is why you don't go with family. I went to the Six Flags in Dallas by myself. I had already pulled up a map of the park from the web and maked all the ones I wanted to go on. I got their early (no waiting on friends or family to get ready). As soon as it was open, I rushed to the one ride which i knew would get the most attention. I was the first one on. I then followed my map, and within 3 hours, I was done with all the rides. Since I was alone, no need to buy toys, food or anything else. Just the rides. Most bang for the buck!

Most people like to go with other people though. Be it friends, relatives or family.

Seriously, I don't get THAT much joy from the rides, but it's the fun of being with your friends and everyone screaming together. I think I'd hate going alone. But i'm glad you had fun.

Either that or they get dragged alone.

Ugh, that would just be depressing, like going to a movie alone.

Oh please, I go to the movies alone all the time and went to sex flags alone too. Big deal. Just meet people when you are there.

Yesterday I saw DareDevil (bleh). It started at 8:20 and I casually walked in at 8:20. I picked the best seat in the house - smack dab in the center between two pretty women.

🙂
