They are all sold out an no one knows when more will come in.
It also states that there is a Huge shortage of 7900 GTX chip .
Now just to wait to see the prices climb to un godly numbers.

Edit: I just checked newegg not a single 7900GT or 7900GTX in stock.

Didn't know the supply situation was that bad, but good to see ATI is getting it right. If nvida suffers because of this then maybe at last they'll bloody learn not to do it. :|

No body IS buying the X1900 series. Note that when demand for the card is less, stock grows every month plus prices goes down to make it look more appealing to consumers.

I think the steam survey shows this as about 800~ X1800 series are being used compared to 12000~ 7800 series even though the X series might have better IQ, HDR plus AA etc etc.

ATI has about 45 % of Video card market so that is not the reason.

Steam survey reflects a huge portion of people that use crappy cards to play CS, it's hardly representative of the enthusiast market. Plus the X1800 has low numbers because it had a short lifespan compared to the X1900. If you look at Steam's survey, it shows very few people having greater than 512 MB of system ram or even a 512 MB card.

QFT. Well all this means is that ATI will once again ride off of nVIVIA's shortage. They (ATI) sold lots of X1800s in december becuase it was the fastest readily available card.

I challenge you to spend any amount of money on another component that will increase your performance in many games by 70%+ and near 100% in some games. Seriously, give it a shot.

Naw, we're not talking about replacing an old video card with a new one, since SLI and CF aren't going to work with the 9200.

Since there aren't very many CF boards out there, let's just consider SLI for the moment. So, you have an A64 3000+, an nf4 sli mobo, and 1GB ram with a 7900GT. What I am saying is that no faster CPU or more ram will ever give you a 90% boost in FEAR at 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF. Another $300 GPU will though.

Some of the points are valid, but the steam survey just tells you that the high end market is small indeed. Plus it also suggests that the 7800GT has dominated the high end market.

There are a gazillion of them in Canada... maybe the problem is retailers in some places not anticipating the high demand and pre-ordering enough of them. If anyone in the UK wants to buy one through me, let me know and I'll chrarge you double for it. :p

Ignore the fanboys looking to make this refresh look like a bad launch. They're the lazy ones that don't spend the time backing up their data.

And yeah, the reason there's so much stock of X1900's is because people aren't BUYING them.

45% of the market share? Please submit links reflecting that number, because I personally call horsesh!t.

Yeah I'd say they're selling out rapidly as well. nVidia are excellent with marketing and coupled with forum trolls/nVidiots, there's no beating them. If the roles were reversed and nVidia had the superior IQ X1900XTX and ATi the needle in your eyes AF 7900 GTX, ATi would've been lucky to sell a dozen cards.

Do you even work for ATI? At least get some commission from them?

The steam survey is not that useful imo. It only considers users who have installed Vavle's software on their computers. Also, I might have bought HL2 1 year ago and since then upgraded and never played the game again.

There is really not much reason to get 7900GT non-overclocked $299 vs. X1800XT 256mb for $299. And X1900XT for $440 is a better value than 7900GTX. So just because Nvidia cards sold out doesn't mean they are better purchase decisions and that no one buys ATI.
