I live a couple of km away and my place is partially blocked by a large condo building, and it's still very annoying loud. I wonder how loud it is right next to the track.

(I can't go this time to watch. :()

I was there for all three days. I think I have first degree burns...today's the first day I actually wore sunscreen! Time to go rip some leaves off the aloe vera plant:( Yeah, they're pretty loud but I've gotten used to it. That, or I've lost enough hearing capability that I'm almost deaf and they seem bearable;)

I was walking around on Friday downtown with my mom and sis's family. My ever curious nephew says to me "Are they having a beauty pageant?". I look over and there are 3 gorgeous Indy girls standing by the Indian Motorcycle Club. Good eye that kid. ;)

There were tons of hot women around the paddock. I had my eye on this chick...err...woman playing volleyball;) Unfortunately, so did a Toronto Fire Fighter playing with her. The same fireman from the Fireman's calendar of topless, well-built and handsome firemen. Oh well...there was more eyecandy in sight. You should have seen the Molson Export Pitcrew Girls! Wowzers:confused:

My friend had a camera but refused to take a picture of them (they were taking pictures with guys!). I don't think I'll ever forget him;)

You think CART is loud? Try Formula One. I've been to numerous CART races and can usually stand right next to the fence without earplugs for a limited amount of time (I like the experience, what the heck). Last year we went to the F1 at Indy and sat directly across from the garage area - they were so loud going by that I was actually fearing for my hearing while I scrambled to dig my earplugs out of my pack. I mean painfully loud...

I worked the Molson Indy for a few years and it IS loud!

No...it really is;)

I worked in the VIP tent and it was anything but VIP. Sure all the celebs were there, but I was there hoping to make some $$$$ on tips. Well...hehe...no tipping in the VIP tent.....like WTF????

The richest ppl attending and they cannot tip! Gheesh. Not only do they get to go for free, but they can "save" their money while enjoying the free show:(

While the schmucks who have to pay, are also expected to tip (in the beer tents that is).

Oh well....I got to watch for free and the beer was too:D They even payed me to work....HAHA

hehe

Are you going to the US GP this year? They're having ticket sale problems and the prices are starting to look attractive to me:) If only more Americans knew of the utter superiority of F1;) I couldn't stand how there were so many full course yellows that allowed the likes of Andretti to pit and then catch up with the rest of the pack.

The closest I got to the cars was a short straight that was about 20 feet away. I had seats on the long straightaway called Thunder Alley and the sound was just at my threshold of tolerance.

I think I like the sound of the normally aspirated F1 V10s to the ChampCar turbo V8s though. Although if I see an F1 race I'll have to put up with the awful sound of the new traction control systems sputtering the engines:disgust:
