So in addition to not paying their fair share of taxes due to the "deal" that trump gave them, they also are cutting their labor because of course they are!

I pickup from that plant often, and even on the busiest of days, other than the truck drivers picking up and delivering loads, it's like a ghost town.

But, he really didn't intervene. The deal to 'stay' was made by Pence before leaving.

Also, I don't think much was helped, since these people are still losing their jobs.
Don't confuse the child with facts and logic. Just shake something shiny on front of him and watch the duhvert

A dollar saved on payroll is same as a dollar saved on taxes. Remember that next time "job creators" promise to create jobs in exchange for tax cuts.

Yes, we know how angry you were when Trump personally intervened to save those jobs. Ask your mom what a "job" is and you might begin to understand :)

Because anyone with half a brain knew it was BS at the time. Well I guess that explains your post then. How is it going through life with less than half a brain?

They also said they are investing automation to further reduce staffing so those 800 jobs left could turn into a fraction of that soon.

The bearing company up the street basically thumbed their nose at Trump and moved to Mexico anyway. Bigly winning.

Traditional smoke stack jobs have and are still leaving on a one way ride and will never come back. The new reality is that jobs like assembling Tesla's or whatever new technology oriented jobs are the new face of manufacturing in this country and if you aren't prepared this segment will leave you behind. Young truck drivers who barely passed high school are very close to getting their rude awakening as well as autonomy becomes widespread along with long range semi's.

It was inevitable. No amount of tax cuts can save the same amount of money as moving from $26/hr wages to $3/hr wages.

Those savings that Trump gave them are supposed to go to the labor, you know. Because it improves everyone's lives. It's not meant to further enrich the people at the top. See, if you weren't so jaded, you'd understand that wealthy CEOs and board members and executives are wealthy enough and don't need any more money! Just giving them more money means they can simply distribute it out to the labor and the local community. Any day, this will prove to be true. We just haven't waited long enough!

Any day, now

Capitalism has moved beyond providing labor (and wages) to people.

First you decline labor's value to try and reach slave "wages". Then you cut jobs entirely as automation ramps up. This is the inevitable and natural evolution of the system. To combat the lost labor, Basic Income must be taxed out of production and given freely to all without reservation. It is an answer to the pending economic crisis.... and the only answer I am aware of.

Yep, because we love getting pissed on.
I think it was an episode of The Boondocks where Grandpa said that he "would love a golden shower, it sounds really nice".

Maybe a sizable amount of Americans enjoy it?
